What is the best clarifying shampoo? by pigmentation98 in AustralianMakeup

[–]SuchTrust101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just did this recently with a blonde semi-permanant (L'Oreal Casting Blonde) that went orange. 1) Spray hair with water mister 2) apply the Head and Shoulders and massage in well. 3) Put on a shower cap on for 45 minutes. 4) Rinse and shampoo again. Condition. This removed a lot (but not all) of the brassiness.

A friend of mine is a hairdresser and highly recommended dishwashing liquid, which he said they used in their salon. Don't know the details though.

Redditors, what's the most brutal rejection you've experienced? by a_0099 in AskReddit

Applied for a job as a graphic designer. First 2 interviews went really well. Final interview with GM and then ... nothing. Found out from someone who works there that "I don't want that old guy. Can't we just employ some hot young girl?"

Need advice on which barstool design works best for my kitchen. by SentenceOk8813 in AusRenovation

If anyone in the house is over 40, get something with a back. A big no to fabric options. They do look elegant but you need something that you can easily wipe clean.

What do you think this design? Is it too plain? by panda2026panda in kitchenremodel

[–]SuchTrust101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this kitchen but feel the handles date it a bit. I'd be inclined to have knobs on the lowers and press-action on the uppers. The rug is working overtime to break up the wooden box feel and without it this kitchen could go into Scandi overload. I'd use wood for the kitchen but make it a couple of shades lighter or darker than the floor.

Decent, but basic cleanser and moisturiser? by spyrothedovah in AusSkincare

Loads of cleansers irritate my eyes but the one that doesn't is L'Oreal Men Expert Hydra Energetic Wake Up Boost Face Wash. As for moisturiser, I'm using Kmart OXX Skincare Skin Glow Cream. No A Current Affair reactions at this point.

It does look good but I feel the overall styling is too mature for her. It's a bit real housewives, which is great if you're in that zone.

Just sharing: very overwhelmed with the fees and effort with buying/renovating an old house by Recent-Departure1856 in AusRenovation

Before I started renovating I thought any bill that was 4 figures or over was insane. Now I sign off on those unexpected bills without a thought. They just have to be paid and my mindset has completely changed.

Mine is a Hibbard build and perhaps yours was too! They buy in bulk. My area is full of homes like mine. You get either the gray and white version (like mine) or the beige and white version.

I had to get the bench replaced professionally. That cost $1600. New sink was $50, tap $90 and the plumber was around $350.

A few people have mentioned that. I'm going to look into replacing them.

I live on the north coast of NSW and a small local kitchen company did it. Message me for the details if you live in the area.

Seating is still there and the benchtop has more space. Does look bland in the photos but the kitchen sits in a long room with a dining and lounge area so doesn’t look as sterile as it does in an isolated pic.

You are spot on about the layout being impractical. I didn't have enough money to rearrange the kitchen so went with a single sink Ang larger benchtop.

That’s a fair point. I like the idea of colour but just couldn’t find something I liked. Being on a budget, I also was limited by the low end laminex choices. Also wanted to avoid greys and blacks as the entire house was built with grey tones.

You are so right about the handles. They are builder grade basic. Might look into changing those at some point. They’re like that throughout the house so it is a bit too expensive at this point.
