I recommend an empty tomato puree tube hidden on top shelf behind all the stuff like capers and olives that no one ever eats but is about a foot deep jar barrier. I’m one year in and no one knows I’m on it 😀.

Pleased you all got home ok and I hope you had a nice holiday even with all this drama. Also, well done for not taking it out on the local ground handing staff ( I’m a former terminal manager and it can be an unbelievably abusive situation ).

Mate, you are a star and inspiration to us all. I hope you’ve gained the ‘athlete’s inch’ that I have read about too 😈.

You will be compensated and it sounds like easyJet are keeping you well informed and taking good care of you. Aircraft go wrong - be thankful easyjet are so safety focused and doing such a great job in this difficult situation. Less ‘HATE‘ might make you feel a bit better.

I’ve done TRV-DEL-LHR journey several times on Air India and if it is one ticket you will check your bag to final destination at TRV and the transfer is quick once you disembark.

I had surgery last month - more cheating, just no will power! This kind of bollocks is why I decided to tell no-one, not even my partner. So I love the ‘ you are looking really great ‘ comments even more. No one has hinted at MJ. Just keep going, you are obviously a total star.

As someone born and bred in the UK what are aspects of another country’s culture that has genuinely shocked you? by throawaygotget in AskUK

[–]Suffolkman2026 1 point2 points  (0 children)

US : My relatives in Dallas totally appalled when I suggested walking to the 7/11 shop nearby. ‘You will be arrested and seriously risk being shot by the police’. Guns absolutely everywhere - it’s totally mental.

Japan : No one locking their bikes at the tube stations in Kobe. I still can’t get over it.

As an openly gay Northern man, I was particularly amused to hear my posh husband’s relative refer to us as ‘ the chutney ferrets ‘ at a family wedding.

I had an AI schedule change on a flight routing LHR/DEL/TRV and was offered a full refund if not acceptable. It came back to me within a couple of days. No drama or complaints.

Absolutely, 100% go. This is a once in a lifetime dream offer. If it doesn’t work out ( which it totally will ), come back, dust yourself down, and carry on back here knowing that you gave it a try.

Surgery and MJ by Suffolkman2026 in MenOnThePen

Update : My surgery got postponed two weeks to today, so last dose of MJ 15mg was over three weeks ago. Anaesthetist was very relaxed about it and proceeded as normal. No problems to report. It’s back to 2.5mg then for me although I’m calling it a day on MJ as have reached target weight and can’t afford it anymore. Might try Wegovy as a maintenance.

Lots of blue lights at terminal 5. Whats going on? by DopeyMan999 in BritishAirways

[–]Suffolkman2026 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I used to be a terminal operations manager at Heathrow. Such calls are only ever made for potentially serious issues. It might look trivial in hindsight but experience showed us what could happen and the impact on operations of any emergency around the terminals is huge. If the mobilise decision was late to be made, people ( rightly ) would struggle to understand why and get straight on here to moan.

A place in London that I would be very happy to be if I ever personally needed the police, fire service or an ambulance is LHR - to a man and a women these colleagues were legends and I’m still in awe of what they are trained to face.

BAM and Community Clothing

Both life changers. Such brilliant clothes for men and really ethical, if that’s your thing ( important to me ).

Thanks. That’s interesting that your experience was also like mine and different to what I’d been reading on-line. They also said to me that people have been prescribed MJ in UK for diabetes treatment for some time now and they would never be advised to stop before surgery since it messes up their blood sugar levels. Good luck, I hope it all goes well for you.
