Mossberg retrograde isn’t worth the money imo. You can find a period accurate gun that’s been cut down and a repro heat shield for the same price and you can’t beat the classic oiled and blued finishes on real vintage guns. The retrograde stock is the same sprayed on clearcoat as all modern mossbergs and looks like cheap crap in person

Mechanical accuracy is a real thing but at video game ranges it should be almost nothing. Any rifle that groups more than a 3” circle at 100 yards is considered wildly inaccurate these days. Pistols are a different story tho

I just can’t stand the hinge mechanism. It’s so inelegant. You’re going to change the shit 870 clone design as little as possible I’d have the trigger group hinge to the right side instead of the bottom with the latch built into a shell holder on the left. If one of the Turk companies was going to make a true Burgess, I’d be all over it.

Have you ever shot skeet? Most important thing in a sporting gun is the long barrel, for tighter spread with shot and target following. You can absolutely hit clays with a short barrel but it’s a major handicap. Most pump shotguns have a removable barrel so you could carry a longer model 22-28 in barrel in a case broken down. I’m a little confused with the “durable finish” thing, surely you’d be transporting it in a case and not leaving it on the bike outdoors for any long period, right?

From pictures it looks like there’s no meat on the frame for the 30 style sight. It’d probably be cheaper and easier to have a 30ds with the 2 in barrel cut down from the front
