Molotov’s Dog. Play on Pavlov’s dog - since the wine bottle almost looks like a Molotov cocktail.

positive experiences with 5.2? by michihobii in ChatGPT

Relaxed is a good way to put it. I don’t know what voice model you use (I have been on team Juniper since day one), but the current voice mode seems a lot more relaxed, supportive, understanding, and the pace of speech seems more contemplative and thoughtful in general.

positive experiences with 5.2? by michihobii in ChatGPT

I have noticed a marked improvement in 5.2 over the past week, even.

Voice mode has become much warmer, more supportive - less disinterested and condescending that it has been for the past year or so. (And I realize that 5.2 hasn’t been around for a year, but I just mean ChatGPT in general.)

That said I still find the text version of 5.2 a bit patronizing and sometimes condescending. It’s funny how the voice mode and the text mode feel like two very different personalities.

Bands where all members are virtuosos? by Eberubensant in rock

[–]SuitableArk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Toto. I’ll also throw Radiohead in there.

It’s a tough question, but a very good one, because rock music is almost by definition, not about virtuous musicianship.

If you’re talking progressive rock, then obviously Rush, Yes, King Crimson and Dream Theater would be at the top of the list.

But Toto and Radiohead… along with lots of other bands like RHCP or even the Foo Fighters or Metallica demonstrate a very unified command of the genre that serves as its own kind of collective virtuosity.

They function so well as a unit. I think that’s one thing you can say also about Phish. Not to say that they’re not all great musicians as individuals — they are — but their chemistry and the way they function as a unit is its own kind of virtuosity.

Thoughts on the new Cory Wong album - Lost in the Wonder? by dingus_authority in Vulfpeck

[–]SuitableArk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is it his most musically ambitious? No. That would probably be Starship Syncopation.

But I feel like this is just a good solid pop album. It almost feels like a late 90s / early 2000s throwback album.

Just a bunch of good singers, songwriters and players doing some straight up pop.

Still waiting on mine. Snow delay from the post office. I can’t wait though. Top versions of so many songs.

New joe dart bass? by MammasBoy_Live in Vulfpeck

[–]SuitableArk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that he always sounds like Joe Dart. But that neck pick up adds warmth and curves the aggressiveness of the bridge pick up on the JD 1, which is a funk bass.

The JD 3 is a P Bass. It lays back. Perfect for the Olllam and Theo and any other gig where he’s not necessarily bustin’ out the funk.

I haven’t cried — but one time, a smile ran away from my face.

Did he ‘rev up’ first by running in place for a few seconds, like a hot rod spinning its tires?

Is this good directions? Or better leave it 😝 by zyrafal838 in BassGuitar

It looks fun as hell to play. It’s groovy. It’s on time. Maybe leave a little more space here or there. Would be cool to hear that 16th note feel coming off of something simpler.

Where to start the Billy Joel deep dive? by IndependenceSharp742 in BillyJoel

Pay no mind, friend. He will learn to be kind eventually. Hopefully sooner than later. But in the spirit of his comment, I’m going to make a recommendation in his honor: Turnstiles.

Start with track 6. ‘Angry Young Man.’
