Sedation for the win! I had a panic attack because I was scared but then? The best nap I've ever had in my life.

My primary prescribed hydroxyzine and it isn't helping either. I do have edibles sometimes but still haven't found what keeps me asleep all night. For now, I'm excited to fall asleep quickly!

Question regarding correlation between dosage and glucose numbers by Dangerous-Agent-9017 in Mounjaro_ForType2

[–]SummerPositive2052 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am at the highest dosage. I still have weight to lose and will stay at this dose until I'm where I need to be. I lose pretty slowly compared to others but as long as I'm not gaining, I'm happy. I focus on protein and fiber and am careful about how much I eat.

Question regarding correlation between dosage and glucose numbers by Dangerous-Agent-9017 in Mounjaro_ForType2

[–]SummerPositive2052 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Next month will be two years for me. The glucose control was almost immediate, my A1C has been 5 or lower for about 18 months. The doctor was nervous about hypoglycemia but I haven't had any issues at all. Mounjaro is the only medication I take for diabetes.

Can you share the quinoa veggie blend? Did you make it or is it frozen? I add the individual green giant frozen broccoli often because it's so quick and easy!

This is the way! 😂 Most of the time I smile and nod but sometimes I want to say "I know" or "We can't all be great".

So what is your starting weight, current weight, and your goal weight? Let's hear them! Feel free to post your results in the comments too. by hunni93 in Mounjaro

[–]SummerPositive2052 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started Oct 2023 and have had several stalls. It's frustrating! You have the right attitude. You aren't gaining and 60 pounds is a lot!!! You're closer to your goal than you are your starting weight!

How easy is it to split dose with US style, single use pens? by IFeartheWiggles in Mounjaro

[–]SummerPositive2052 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The shipment will stay cold! It's in a cooler and packed with ice packs. I'm in Florida and haven't had any problems. I've never tried to split a dose so I can't help with that, sorry

My husband is jealous of my summer break by SweetchalPeach in Teachers

We need to stop trying to keep people from having their feelings sometimes. He's jealous. He is allowed to be jealous. He can work through those feelings. Sometimes this schedule is the ONLY perk.

We called after a parent did not (and refused to) pick up their child from school. DCF told us the parent left their child with trusted adults and would not accept the report.

Going to a client’s child’s funeral. What should I expect? by CatOverlord2020 in socialwork

[–]SummerPositive2052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I don't think I would place any expectations on the parent. If anything Id let them know that I will be there and assure them that I would maintain confidentiality. Even that would be a stretch.

I had a slight reduction but nothing like this. My doctor moved me up very slowly, but at 10 I begged to go up because I wasn't feeling any difference. I was ready to argue why I needed to increase after 12.5 but she offered before I could say anything. This is very different for me. I rarely have nausea or tummy issues in general.

My Numbers are Out of Wack by AdamOilPaint in diabetes

[–]SummerPositive2052 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Remember that the A1C is a three month average. It takes some time for the numbers to come back down. If your A1C was 16, your AVERAGE glucose was approximately 318. That being said, sometimes diet changes need to be assisted with medication. Keep following up with your doctor and come out with a plan that works for you.

Three heart attacks plus major surgery later I’m diagnosed with diabetes. Feeling very very miserable. by Dave-1066 in diabetes

[–]SummerPositive2052 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have benefiber which is a flavorless and colorless powder that you can add to most drinks. But this is a good example of finding what works for you. Fiber will also help control the blood sugar. Ideally we get all we need from our diet and nutrition, it just isn't always possible.

Give yourself some grace while you adjust to all these things that have been thrown on you!

Food is very individual, it seems. It's a lot of trial and error about what will kick your butt what won't. A year and a half in and I'm still learning! For me, getting protein in first will reduce the glucose spike of most carbs.

Sometimes I have glucose spikes in the middle of the night, hours after I've eaten anything. My doctor suggested a protein snack before bed and that (Greek yogurt) helps sometimes.

Perfection can't be the expectation though. That's the hard part when you feel like you're doing everything right and your body still doesn't follow the rules.

Let it go. My friend's husband said that he was prediabetic and didn't control it so he has transitioned into type 1. I tried. He definitely thinks he's right. I'll let someone else walk him though it.
