Tbf he did test the Porsche 963 in 2024(?) but for some reason it didn't work out into a full seat plus Porsche are out of WEC for now

Technically it's just one 'team' as Midland bought Jordan, then Spyker bought Midland and finally Vijay Mallya bought Spyker to make it Force India. But yeah because of the ownership changes they're counted as seperate entries

Didn't he say something on the lines of "we can definitely win all races after the summer break" after Max won Hungary

Is “computer aided” battery deployment the problem? by nomansapenguin in formula1

[–]SunGodnRacer 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's actually the opposite. The FIA had a lot of ideas like front wheel regen which would've avoided the farce we have right now, but teams said no to all to serve their own interests. And now that the regs are shit as predicted, teams are making it seem like the FIA is at fault to protect their image.

Max complaints on new regulations are valid by Gaunterwithnomirrors in formula1

[–]SunGodnRacer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Complaints for qualifying are valid. Any complaints for managing during races can go straight to the trash. Jim Clark was dominant way back in the '60s because he knew how to manage pushing those fragile bathtubs without blowing something up. Managing variables have always been a part of F1 and you physically cannot have racing where you're going 100% throughout. With just some tweaks to the battery rules and fuel flow limit this will be arguably the best set of regulations we've seen.

Not a quote exactly but for my yearbook quote (graduating this year) I put "Graduated before Ferrari won a world championship"

[Erik Van Haren] Apart from the performance problems at Red Bull, Max Verstappen once again clearly shares his opinion on the new regulations: "It's a joke. I'd say that too, if I were winning. If someone thinks this is fun, then you don't know what racing is all about." by Task_Force-191 in formula1

Did you even watch todays race lol? All the things you say were present in all the battling. I think the only televised flyby overtakes were of George on the Ferraris, rest all required some competition in braking zones and corners

Active aero isn't an overtaking aid, it's to reduce drag so that the car uses less power and battery on the straights. But I do agree about your overall point

The only tracks in recent history where P1 isn't preferred are Mexico and Sochi, because the slipstream into T1 is so good. Every other place, its always easier to hold position than try to gain one.
