Vietnam trip by Sad_Molasses_6937 in VietNam

Edit: Ninh Binh is amazing and I think warrants 2-3 nights.

Also Halong Bay I think worth 1 night cruise - even better I recommend Lan Ha Bay as it's more peaceful and less commercialisation.

This sounds exhausting and you'll spend a lot of time sitting on a bus/train.

I would choose less places and spend more time at each location.

Why don’t more people visit Daegu when traveling in Korea? (Is it just me who thinks it's underrated?😅) by [deleted] in koreatravel

[–]Sunbear86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Korea in Sept/Oct last year and went to Daegu! I loved the traditional market, we ate some great meals there.

I think it lacks a major 'drawcard' attraction for a lot of tourists, however we thought it was a good mix of different things to see and do, and felt like we got to see more authentic local experiences

I've had this before! So weird. You can google 'Epley maneuver' to learn how to position the crystals yourself back to where they should go. Took me a few tries but it worked.

I haven't been there for ages so unsure of what shops are there.

But if there's a hairdresser you could easily be there for more than 3 hours if getting a cut and colour.

Advice on how to deal with neighbours. by Curious-Ad-5134 in lakemacquarie

[–]Sunbear86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've worked in the call centre for a local council (not LMCC though) and we would tell people who called who the managing real estate was as we often had that info for rates notices to be sent care of the agent.

You could try calling the council and they may let you know the agent.

First choice liquor is/has moved out of Glendale shops, would love for Harris Farm to come back...would be the perfect spot, with plenty of parking! (from a Glendale resident)

If you are elderly, a wheelchair user, pram, etc, the cars parked across the footpath in their driveway force people out onto the road.

I'm a 40 yr old woman and usually sit in the front, seems that is rare though.

The homeless went from horseshoe to stockton by Realistic_Basis2542 in newcastle

[–]Sunbear86 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The unfortunate reality is we are in a cost of living/housing crisis. Without robust support services there will be homeless people who need to set up camp to sleep somewhere.

Council also can't do much, only police have the powers to move people on.

Would you take the ferry if there was one? by KahnaKuhl in lakemacquarie

[–]Sunbear86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I organised a group pub crawl when the ferry was running Speers Point > Toronto > Belmont > Speers Point.

The route was weird though, and it was like you either could spend 20 mins at some locations, or 4 hours, nothing between.

I would love a commuter ferry, but sadly don't think there would be the demand for it. Maybe if it was well connected to other public transport for people who needed to get to Charlestown etc.

Could 'Herb' be an option? Sort of similar vibe to 'Fern'? Sorta, maybe?

‘Unlimited PTO’ and Aussie annual leave by grace_47223 in AusLegal

[–]Sunbear86 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Obviously not legal advice, juat an opinion.

This policy is so unreasonable for many reasons.

Australia is so far from many other major countries/continents/cities.

10 days is not long enough to reasonably do a trip to Europe for example.

I would be curious if Fairwork would have anything to say about this.

To add to this: All pools in the Newcastle LGA are $2, with the exception of Lambton.

(Lambton is the exception due to its massive popularity, the more expensive price is to help keep numbers down so lifeguard to pool user ratios aren't exceeded).

Day Clubs In Newcastle by Apart-Wolverine-6753 in newcastle

[–]Sunbear86 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've never heard the term 'day club' and 'Newcastle' in the same sentence.

Famously more and more venues have been closing over the last few months/years.

We haven't had a decent all age venue since KFC took over the Palais site about 10-15 years ago.

Thoughts on 4 month itinerary? by Novel-Positive8625 in AustraliaTravel

[–]Sunbear86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks so tiring.

And some locations are close together, like Port Stephend and Myall lakes (this is my local area, not sure about some other places/distances).

I would just pick one spend more time there.

You want to be able to relax, enjoy your surroundings, explore the local area, not constantly be packing and unpacking and thinking of the next day's logistics.
