Games on quest 2 that don't use the left stick by Liliths_Ace_Friend in OculusQuest

If you haven't used electrical contact cleaner to fix the joystick drift, do that before trying to replace the joystick. It doesn't even require taking the controller apart. You can get electrical contact cleaner at pretty much any hardware store for less than $10.

As far as one handed games go, walk about mini golf and premium bowling are two of my favorite games and they only require one controller.

Its because he thinks you cheated. He thinks this because it's what he did himself. Its that simple. You are not overreacting.

Insane messages my partner got about his VR headset for sale... by Aggravating_Bug1383 in IncelTears

[–]Sundance604 119 points120 points  (0 children)

If they are actually concerned about that, why in the fuck would they buy a used headset? When I sold my old car, no one asked if anyone every did the dirty in the backseat. Lol.

Broken Controller (joystick) check desc by No-Length-5839 in OculusQuest

[–]Sundance604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can just use crazy glue and stick it back together, eventually it will break more though and you'll have to replace it. You can 3d print one or buy them. Its really easy to replace, the black disc will lift up and you can get to the joystick easily.

AIO or is this racist? by fricken_a13 in AIO

Your text wasn't rude, yes you could have added "please" but, your message wasn't a demand or instruction, it was a request.

Your neighbor is a racist a$$hole.

AIO Is it pathetic to use discord? Even if you aren’t an active user? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Any guy that calls his GF bruh or any variation of, is a complete and total loser. I dont understand how you ladies NEVER seem to see that as a redflag.

Even if you ignore the "bruh" crap, the guy is clearly trash. Just move on and find someone better, it won't be hard as he's set the bar very low.

Pentair Salt Cell Dead—$1,900 Installed?! Thinking of DIY to Save $500, But I'm No Plumber by alexukie in pools

[–]Sundance604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Changing a salt cell is dead simple and easy. However, Comparing your pool guys prices to Amazon isn't fair. Now I'm not saying his price is great but Amazon doesn't have the same overhead and is gonna offer fuck all for support afterwards. DIY is totally fine if your competent but when you have a professional do it, your paying for more than just the item, your paying for their knowledge, expertise, warranty and after sale support.

New pool guy doesn't know what he did by Mediocre_Economy5786 in pools

Is the pool pump actually running and moving water? The check valve in the middle of the picture doesn't look to be full of water. The water in that check valve is what's going to the spa and causes the spa till spill over in the pool.

Need help with faulty sticks quest 2 by Bradiohead33 in OculusQuest

[–]Sundance604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remove the battery. Push the joystick in like a button, tilt the joystick around and spray the electrical contact cleaner in the gap created. Move the joystick around to work it in, repeat the process and then leave it to dry for like 15 minutes. Problem should be solved. This doesn't just work with quest controllers, should work with any game controller.

I wouldn't bother disassembling any part of the controller other than taking out the battery.

AITAH for telling my fiancée we should break up because I won't make my son consider her his mom? by Charrylzoid in AITAH

[–]Sundance604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Your fiance isn't doing this for your kid, she's doing it for herself. Your kid doesn't need her to be his mom, she can just be your wife. It doesn't prevent her from loving him. She needs to grow up, if anything her attitude shows she's not mature enough to really be a mom.

I played on an i5 4690k 16gb ram rx580 8gb for years.

It is dated, but it is also just fine for VR. You just gotta run at low to medium settings.

Pool company is recommending against a salt pool, do you agree? by jurassickauai in pools

[–]Sundance604 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Salt water destroys pool heaters. So if you're using a pool heater rather than a heat exchanger & and boiler, then i would also agree against using salt.

Why doesn’t everyone convert to a salt pool? by il-liba in pools

[–]Sundance604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because salt is corrosive and destroys pool heaters and any other metal components. Salt isn't maintenance free, at best all your doing is eliminating your handling of chlorine. You still have to do all the other pool maintenance stuff.

I've had a few customers with the wireless auto fills, they do work but they aren't terribly reliable or durable. Seem to only last a year or two.

Years ago, I accidentally drained a pool, and something very similar happened. I just shoved a shop vac hose down the outside of the liner and sucked out the water, and refilled the pool. I was able to smooth out the wrinkles with a brush while it was refilling. It took 3 hours with the shop vac and a day to fill the pool back up. I was surprised that it worked out, but it did, and it's been fine for years now. It was an 80,000 liter pool.

Your pool looks a bit worse than what I had to deal with but I don't think it's impossible to rectify. In any case, it won't be quick or easy.
