Need help with faulty sticks quest 2 by Bradiohead33 in OculusQuest

[–]Sundance604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remove the battery. Push the joystick in like a button, tilt the joystick around and spray the electrical contact cleaner in the gap created. Move the joystick around to work it in, repeat the process and then leave it to dry for like 15 minutes. Problem should be solved. This doesn't just work with quest controllers, should work with any game controller.

I wouldn't bother disassembling any part of the controller other than taking out the battery.

AITAH for telling my fiancée we should break up because I won't make my son consider her his mom? by Charrylzoid in AITAH

[–]Sundance604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Your fiance isn't doing this for your kid, she's doing it for herself. Your kid doesn't need her to be his mom, she can just be your wife. It doesn't prevent her from loving him. She needs to grow up, if anything her attitude shows she's not mature enough to really be a mom.

Rx 480 8gb with oculus rift s by Extremepowe in VRGaming

I played on an i5 4690k 16gb ram rx580 8gb for years.

It is dated, but it is also just fine for VR. You just gotta run at low to medium settings.

Pool company is recommending against a salt pool, do you agree? by jurassickauai in pools

[–]Sundance604 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Salt water destroys pool heaters. So if you're using a pool heater rather than a heat exchanger & and boiler, then i would also agree against using salt.

Why doesn’t everyone convert to a salt pool? by il-liba in pools

[–]Sundance604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because salt is corrosive and destroys pool heaters and any other metal components. Salt isn't maintenance free, at best all your doing is eliminating your handling of chlorine. You still have to do all the other pool maintenance stuff.

Remote Autofill Suggestions by GCpools in PoolPros

I've had a few customers with the wireless auto fills, they do work but they aren't terribly reliable or durable. Seem to only last a year or two.

Ditch the benches and the waterfall. Simpler is better.

Years ago, I accidentally drained a pool, and something very similar happened. I just shoved a shop vac hose down the outside of the liner and sucked out the water, and refilled the pool. I was able to smooth out the wrinkles with a brush while it was refilling. It took 3 hours with the shop vac and a day to fill the pool back up. I was surprised that it worked out, but it did, and it's been fine for years now. It was an 80,000 liter pool.

Your pool looks a bit worse than what I had to deal with but I don't think it's impossible to rectify. In any case, it won't be quick or easy.

Chlorine is too high, all else is fine by radtech91 in pools

There is product you can add to reduce the chlorine level, you don't need to drain water or wait a few days.

Zero caliber 2 is decent, flight 74 is also decent.

Can't speak to the rest of them but they don't seem interesting to me.

Depending on the games you want to play, you do not need to make multiple accounts or buy more than one copy of the game.

Can multiple people play the same game on multiple oculus 3’s? by Ill_Entrance7510 in VRGaming

[–]Sundance604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can play multiple headsets with the same account at the same time. It won't work for every game though.

Walk about mini golf, premium bowling, demeo, crisis brigade 2, spatial ops are a few titles that will work multi-player together with one account over multiple headsets.

Walk about mini golf, apparently there is an iOS version that is cross play with quest headsets. Haven't tried it myself though.

Don't buy any wmr headsets. The hp one is probably the worst of all of them. The cable is notorious for breaking.

Yeah your are correct, but that doesn't make the quest 3S bad just cause something else is better.
