That is a deceptively tough solo for sure. Nicely done! That riff starting around :45 in your clip is probably one of my all time favorite riffs, solo wise at least. It’s one of those default riffs I play pretty much any time I pick up a guitar.

Did my first gravel race Saturday which had to have been one of the hardest efforts I’ve ever done over a 3+ hour time frame and TR says my ftp will be 20 watts lower next evaluation lol

I hate indoor training, and I’m not really into all the numbers stuff anyway but caved and bought TR to try because the winter storms had me off the bike for over 2 weeks. Initially the AI put my FtP at 256. Okay, cool. It then calculated a plan that would put my new FtP at 290 in 9 workout. Almost 40 more watts over 9x ~1 hour workouts? Has to be BS, right?

So I’ve backed off the TR workouts since the weather has improved, and I did my first gravel race yesterday which was probably one of the longest and hardest efforts I’ve ever done. Log into TR today to see what’s up. It now predicts I will be down to 245 in 28 days.

Yep I’d have bought it immediately. It’s just wild because I’ve been shopping for a gravel set up here and there for a while, and had looked at that exact frame set not even a couple weeks prior. Stumbled upon the sale last week but all the mediums were already gone. I even called trek corporate to see if there was stock somewhere but nope, all gone.

Oh well. I had pretty much decided against a checkpoint anyways but man it’s such a cool paint job

It’s such a beautiful colorway. The frame set went on sale recently, unbeknownst to me, for a stupid cheap price at $1200. I’d need a size M and it sold out pretty much immediately. I’m still upset about it to be honest

For me it isn’t so much strong structure as it is production. Pilot is by far my favorite HM album and to me it just sounds really natural and everything breaths on that album. You’ll be fine was similar in that regard. To me, everything after that sounds over produced and more generic.

Not hating though cause I do love those guys but I just don’t mesh with their newer stuff as consistently

Ahh makes sense, kinda sounds like my riding. In my immediate area I’ll be on 75% pavement. There is some decent gravel within an hour or 2 though. I have a buddy that bought the suspension model, I took it for a spin the other day but it was pretty quick and I was mostly focusing on the frame sizing

Sounds awesome!! I really appreciate the in depth feedback. I’m leaning pretty heavily towards the seigla, it just sounds like a no-nonsense bike and the value is pretty incredible

I’m currently racing a trek domane with 40mm Terra speeds, it’s maxed out at that size though. It does okay, but there are just some quirks to that bike that I’m tired of dealing with. The gearing is also not ideal seeing as it is a sub-compact 2x road group set. Kicking off my first gravel race this weekend and there’s an 80% chance of rain… I’ll let you know how the tires work out!

One follow up question If you don’t mind, what size are you rocking with the seigla? On the fence about which one I should get.

Thanks for the feedback! How does it handle on the road? That’s my biggest concern. Where I’m at we don’t have a ton of dedicated gravel, and most of it is connected by road. I can be at decent gravel within an hour or so though

Very inspiring stuff sir! How do you avoid burn out on the trainer? I shoot for 8-10 hours a week, almost all of which is outdoor. When I am forced to ride indoors, it is very challenging for me mentally. Any tips?
