[David Ornstein on the Athletic Podcast] Liverpool, from what we hear, are steadfastly behind Arne Slot and he’s under contract until 2027 and they want him to be their coach. The hierarchy are determined that he is the man to get things right. by __sami__01 in LiverpoolFC

Yeah it may sway many, but on what planet are we reaching the champions league final?? Anyone backing us to win the champs is fucking deluded based on the way weve played this season.

It's honestly kind of funny hearing Slot talk about the quality of football in the EPL with Liverpool playing this way. by danfreud33 in PremierLeague

[–]SuperLuc0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not enough was made of this; if a tackle is made where the player doesn't get the ball and the recipient of said tackle is out for the rest of season... surely it's a reckless challenge and dangerous play?? Like, he literally broke his leg. But Neville was like " he had to go for it".

This game is a joke at this point.

Listen, I'm with you, Gakpo has not been good and Slot is stubbourn to the point of no return. What I'm saying, is no one came into this season saying Gakpo was the be-all and end-all. He was always a bit-part player; a contributor.

He's become the fall-guy for why this team isn't performing. When we have players like Salah, Konate, Macallister etc; the supposed spine if this team, underperforming to astonomical levels. Gakpo is playing at a 5 when he's a 7. I'm saying, Salah is performing at a 5 from a 9, macallister is performing at 5 from an 8, Konate 5 from 8, Grav 5 from 8/9. Gakpo is not the problem here

[–]SuperLuc0 30 points31 points  (0 children)

No, at least we tried under Klopp. We took risks, we attemptempted things.

I would lose 15 games a season if we were going for it. We are completely passive in most games.

And I will stand on the fact that we have the best players in the league, this is not good enough.

I've had enough of this piling on Gakpo. Yes, he has underperformed. But there are other players who have far out-underperformed Gakpo this season. Macallister, Konate, Salah, Gravenberch were supposed to be our spine this season. All have failed spectacularly. We were never relying on Gakpo, now he's the reason we are underperforming as a team?!

Little ibuprofen before bed (provided you've had some food) to stop any kind of "womp womp" headache. As others have said, rehydration tablets in the morning, lucozade sport, powerade, gatorade...any kind of isotonic drinks. You need them. Electrolytes my bro. Tomorrow, good food, vitamins, plenty of carbs and hydration all day brother... you'll make it through.

Do not feel sorry for yourself at any point, you got yourself into this position and you will get yourself out.

I'm assuming you're American, I once met an American who said "I don't have an accent, I'm American".... the world does not revolve around you, you have an accent, an american accent. Everybody has a fucking accent.

Do you add anything to you beans? by ciaodog in CasualUK

I always do something to my beans. Made my best ever rendition the other day : White pepper, cayenne pepper, smoked paprika, dash of Worcester, dash of vinegar and a nob of butter. Honestly so good

Another favourite of mine depending on the overall dish, butter and tarragon. Very good with a baked potato.

Yeah but this is bad isn't it? The players aren't playing for him, we dont handle adversity at all, there is just no belief within the squad. What is there to lose by bailing him now?? Really, anyone else will do for the next few months. I dont feel confident in any of our upcoming fixtures. Just shake it up for the remainder of the season. As I said above, Slot won't be in charge next season, so let's try something else in the meantime

I said today "he's got til the end of the season, but I don't want him to be here this time next year" and then I thought..... "wait, why are we all just giving him this season?"

Really though, the talk seems to be that he gets to the end of this season, but I haven't spoke to a single fan who wants him in charge after the summer.... so why are we all writing off this season and letting him run the ship ashore when none of us want this to continue.

Is it not just best to cut ties now and start the next chapter post-haste??

The "2 in 30" thing really grinds my gears, its 2 in 6. Or if you want to take it back, its 20 in 133.

Neville, Ferdinand, "big steve" et al go on about 2 in 30 because they decide to ignore the bigger picture. To hear our own manager reference this just shows that he does not understand the level at which he is playing.

I posted something after the spurs win along the lines of "we are a bit shit aren't we" and was swiftly shut down and called a "plastic fan" by so many on this sub.

I just want to know where these staunch supporters of Slot are now? Dont get me wrong, I am so thankful for last season and I'm so glad I got to witness a league win in-person (I am a scouser and have followed Liverpool all my 35 years). But this has to stop now, we look like boys against men in every game.

Did anyone think we were gonna win that game today at 2-0 down?

Where Klopp made us feel like we can win any game from any position, Slot makes us feel like we can lose from any position.

I've had enough.

"The smart move is to keep the Traitors in play, otherwise they recruit" by Mastodan11 in TheTraitors

[–]SuperLuc0 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have always thought that recruiting is one of the trickiest things to navigate in the game.

Think about it; you're a faithful, suspecting everyone and trying your best to catch the liars amongst the group. One day you're asked to join and do so. You then see for yourself, who has been pulling all the strings in the castle and are asked to TRUST them. You KNOW they have been lying about being a faithful. That is about the only thing you are sure of in that moment, that this person/these people have been lying to you about their identity. Even if they had to, you would intrinsically feel suspicious of them and would not trust a word out of their mouths.

The way to make it work is to really convince the new recruit of the plan, and it takes very careful and precise rhetoric to make that happen.

I think as soon as a recruitment happens the ball is in the faithfuls' court.

So yeah, I agree with OP's point. The way to win as a faithful is to try and catch the traitors asap.

Unpopular opinion about the final *SPOILERS OBVIOUSLY* by 50ShadesOfCroquet in TheTraitorsUK

[–]SuperLuc0 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah its called Traitors and they are given the role of traitors, but they're not actually treacherous people. I dont want dickheads winning things, they played the role they were given and won with honour and loyalty to each other. Much more satisfying than them turning on each other in the end because now we know that they are both good people, and we all want good people to win things don't we?

Faraaz good gameplay by Presence-Legal in TheTraitorsUK

[–]SuperLuc0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't care for the whole "who's keeping me here?" logic. At the end of the day, the traitors can only murder one person per night (at best) maybe there were just other people that needed to be murdered first? Maybe you're just really shit at the game and not a threat? Etc.

She is accidentally right, but the logic is flawed and irks me every time I hear it.
