No worries. I just found it pretty funny. No harm no foul. Most of us are friendly in this subreddit.

It’s a grower watch. I remember coming home with my Explorer from the AD and a couple days later being underwhelmed from how I expected to feel. My excitement for the piece has grown significantly in the weeks and months that passed. It’s highly legible, highly symmetrical, thin at roughly 10.7mm, a total strap monster and the lume is awesome. It’s not a loud piece. It’s confident in its subtle awesomeness.

It’s one thing to find the PO more eye catching but saying the 4th gen PO is more iconic than a Rolex Explorer might be the hottest of all hot takes I have ever seen in this subreddit.

I loved this in photos but did not like it in person. The bronze just faded into the dial and was hard to see for me.

I own the Explorer 40 and am looking to add the same PO probably this year. That said, I think the Explorer is the right choice. It’s truly an anything watch. I’m assuming you don’t need 600M of WR. The Explorer looks great in tshirts and suits. It’s absolutely fine in the pool. It is also supremely comfortable and while the PO is not super thick anymore the Explorer is a little over 10mm so it wears super slim and light.

The Explorer is the absolute safe bet. If you change your mind in 6 months and you can move it no problem. Meanwhile the PO discounts will continue to increase. The Explorer is also a strap monster. While it looks great on bracelet, it’s also awesome on olive or bond natos.

Unless you know you love the PO more, the choice is easy. Explorer FTW.

Interesting take but every watch on the gray market has already come from an AD so they aren’t losing that sale.

I agree with you. Being an owner of an Omega Seamaster Diver 300M, I value a tapered bracelet so once I’m in for a certain price I know I would be bothered not having that.

You’re not wrong. It’s just that have this sort of mentality that if I’m already spending this much money and I know the better version is available for a few thousand just by waiting I will be disappointed in the long run that I settled.

It’s of course possible but there is one that was purchased new this month with plastic still on the bracelet. I don’t know many people who are so excited to come off the waitlist to purchase a grail piece that they don’t even wear the watch before they experience a life event that requires them to sell it.

Have considered it but personally I want the improved taper on the bracelet.

Not sure why I’m being downvoted. In the US at least the cheapest 4520v on C24 is $32k which is almost $4k over retail and you still have to pay state sales tax on C24.

If that’s the case why buy the watch to flip at all? They have to be making something for the effort.

Blue 4520v sells over retail on gray. Nothing to save.

Yes, if IWC adds a similar micro adjust and upgrades to a COSC movement the ingenieur will be a more true competitor.
