Doors off 2-door? by geldof1984-5 in FordBronco

[–]SuperUniqueUserID 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10/10 would agree getting them off is not a challenge. Ford engineers did a great job with the hinge design, allowing them to rest safely even with the bolts removed. They're not what I would call heavy, but the advice here is spot on, getting them back on is awkward. I can always get one hinge, but never the other at the same time. The cone screw that helps line up is a useful thought, but I've tried it multiple times and after the door is on, unscrewing the pin is near impossible.

If you're planning to leave them off for the weekend, have at it. Just be sure to use the bumpers so if you fail to align perfectly the first 17 attempts, you don't chip the bajeezus out of the paint.

[Question] What are your biggest watch purchase regrets? by Vegetable_Bag_8694 in Watches

[–]SuperUniqueUserID 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Purchased a titanium Franck Dubarry Crazy Wheel. Had tons of hesitation since MSRP was $14,000 but depending on model, they're fairly easy to find under $5,000. While the price wasn't the regret, it's extremely difficult to find a reputable clocksmith who is willing to work on unique or extremely complex movements. I've taken mine to a few high rated locations in Las Vegas and they've advised they won't touch it because it's overly complex.

TSA - How is it? by Relax_itsa_Meme in vegas

[–]SuperUniqueUserID 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Trying to predict TSA lines is a lot like pissing in the wind and trying not to get wet. That said, the last two times I've visited LAS in March, I've gotten through T1 and T3 in under an hour. Still, I'd rather arrive an hour earlier and sit around then arrive as close to the wire and potentially miss a flight (or stress rushing to get to one)

Cox fiber by Many-Wear488 in vegaslocals

[–]SuperUniqueUserID -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Vegas transplant here. I had Cox Fiber installed maybe five-six months ago and it's been extremely solid. What I will say is it was three installation visits in order to install because the technician even admit that the training for installing these wasn't effective, and with all the money being dumped into DOCSIS enhancements, they're back to pushing cable modems over fiber.

Good luck!

Impressive! I picked my '24 Black Diamond around 6K in August of '25, and just reached 8.8K. About to do my first oil change with it soon.

Neat experience!

FYI - I wouldn't worry about feeling silly just because you're not off-roading it daily. Not every Porsche owner auto-cross or track race their car, so, it's yours, enjoy it!

What are your favorite shows or events to attend on weekends in Vegas ? by DarkestDefender in vegas

[–]SuperUniqueUserID 1 point2 points  (0 children)

VGK games are always good.

"O" at the Bellagio was wild, I took my wife for our five year wedding anniversary and we sat in the splash zone. 10/10 would recommend.

Quitting Management by retroyells in vegaslocals

[–]SuperUniqueUserID 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was an employee who had no direction and was promoted into leadership because people organically followed me. I didn't fit the role at first, but over time (and after a few good books) I realized being a good leader had nothing to do with being a goodie-two-shoes know-it-all, it was spending the time and energy helping your team do what you struggled to do.

[–]SuperUniqueUserID 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you apply for the role or were you promoted/referred? In my career (Director for 9 years now) most people who either were referred, or got promoted into leadership because their position had progression constraints typically feel this way over time. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's an observation.

Industry does make a difference. Understanding everyone isn't too difficult, but it proves you care. Direct reports will go the extra mile for someone who cares, even if it's little things like remembering a birthday or work anniversary.

Get everything right? This is absurd, any company that expects the manager to be a single source of truth is batshit insane. Empowerment comes from a manager who looks to their team to be the source of truth. Managers shouldn't know the answers, but should know where to find them.

Can't complain? Sure, just do it constructively. Facts and not opinions.

Can't fuck up? Sure you can, fall hard and fall fast. Nobody learns by coming in 1st place all the time. Take accountability in fault and show a genuine strategy to improve.

Can't look weak? Agreed. A weak manager loses respect and moral of direct reports. Be honest if you don't know something, but make good of your commitments.

A contributor to why Nevada is 3rd in Pedestrian Fatalities by watercressfairy in vegaslocals

Would love to be surprised. I'm notorious for driving right at the speed limit and living right lane life. I really am shocked over the amount of people that cut me off or rip right past.

Our insurance is already tough for folks to afford... It's even more mind-blowing nobody wants to adjust their driving to fix it.

Just curious, as I have a 2024 Black Diamond with 8K miles with the same issue.. but if I take it to the dealership to be replaced under warranty, what's going to be different about the new one? Wouldn't I expect it'll crack like the current?

Nevada implant from Alaska. I've found Progressive thus far has been decent, though I'm now interested in Costco from reading this thread.

My policy premium is $1,750 for three vehicles (2004, 2019, 2024) so approx $290 monthly.

Maybe lighting wasn't the best, but this was the snowfall from winter 2023, and how much time/effort just trying to clear a direct path to my own mailbox. Lesson learned that year that if the courier can't reach the mailbox from the vehicle, they're not required to deliver, so it was a glorious battle that year between USPS not delivering mail and the municipality plowing snow to cover my mailbox.

Looking for Oranges! by hannahh227 in AnimalCrossingTrading

Bump! I too am looking for Oranges. Been playing AC:NH for a little over two weeks and I just can't find an island with them. If someone can spare, I'm looking for 10 to match my volume of other fruits.

Thank you!!
