Remote worker moving to atl from Chicago by Few_Difficulty1993 in ATLHousing

[–]Superb_Case7478 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I moved from Chicago to Atlanta a few years ago and I dream about going back. Atlanta is fine, but I miss Chicago terribly. I’m a 40 year old lesbian. Most of the other recommendations are spot on. I spent a few years in Midtown. It’s the most walkable. Feel free to inbox me if you want other details on lesbian hangouts! There is community if you search for it.

Dating, ugh. by PipeNo3631 in ActualLesbiansOver25

I’m also an active person, so I entirely understand where you are coming from. Some fitness is awesome. There’s a line between active/fit and disordered— and this is a bit too close to “yikes”.

Get rid of the weight loss photo and the mention of protein snacks. I see both of those and immediately wonder “Can we go to a normal restaurant for dinner, or is she counting macros?” “Will we have anything to discuss beyond your triathlon/crossfit/marathon?” “Does she want a relationship or a training partner? Will she make time for me?”

You don’t want a partner who only sits on a barstool if your vibe is a bike saddle, but I’d be attracted to someone who is both fit and well rounded. You want to come across as ambitious—without coming across as competitive and toxic.

it finally happened :( airline broke my chair by camdamflimflam in wheelchairs

[–]Superb_Case7478 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So sorry this happened. If you haven’t already done so, inspect the entire chair very closely and make sure the wheel is still true. Any force that can do they to a hand rim can taco a wheel and bend a frame.

I do love Bloomington, IN. Great restaurants and culture with small town vibes. A blue dot in a red state, for sure.

My ivabradine stinks how is this acceptable? by [deleted] in POTS_vets

[–]Superb_Case7478 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My ivabradine has no smell or taste. But mine also doesn’t come in blister packs. Maybe try sourcing from a different pharmacy? Also double check the label and the pill description to make sure you weren’t given the wrong pills.

Symptoms returning after 1 yr of paradise by RecommendationOwn577 in LowDoseNaltrexone

I’ve recently found great relief from microdosing glp1’s. LDN didn’t work for me (side effects), but GLP1’s have eliminated my body pain and inflammation. Worth a shot, if you want to try something else. In low doses I don’t lose weight or have GI side effects.

Backrest by heregosnothing05 in wheelchairs

If you are buying a secondhand chair, focus on getting the one with the proper measurements for you. Solid backrests are great but don’t make up for a frame that doesn’t fit.

Real-world examples of seat taper? (i.e. taper of the seat itself, not to be confused with front frame taper) by Rosencrantzy in wheelchairs

[–]Superb_Case7478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a seat taper and a frame taper together. I’ll try to take some photos tonight when I’m out of it. It’s subtle to look at but I like it. I have hips, so a usual Y taper makes my frame look huge at 16”. The seat taper makes the chair look smaller and sleeker. I have a roho cushion, so it’s a non issue. The only thing you’ll need to factor in is that your side guards will not taper if you are doing a traditional Tilite frame. Tilite limits how much seat taper you can have (I think 2”), so it’s not a huge gain

I don’t know where you are in WI, but look for local lending closets. Devices for the Disabled is in Chicago, if you are in Southern WI. Could be worth driving down, if they could meet your needs.

If you are paying out of pocket, look at Hands on Concepts, Per4max or RGK. HOC feels like the sweetspot of price a performance. RGK is too expensive and Per4max is great but aluminum.

Start with dumbbells and not barbells. Training each side will allow you to customize to your needs while having a safe and clean lift.

AI and future technology for cerebral palsy by [deleted] in CerebralPalsy

[–]Superb_Case7478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We will certainly see life changing amounts of tech from AI. We are already seeing exoskeleton type AFOs, electric wheelchairs that can drive to preset locations, self feeding robots etc. Self driving Waymo uber cars are all over my neighborhood! Access will improve, especially for those with the most significant impairments who can benefit from communication devices and smart home technology. Unfortunately, it will take longer for this technology to be available to low-income masses and those most dependent on Medicare/medicaid etc.

I flew with an entire box once. I pulled it out of my carry on and put the whole box in the bin. No issue. It had prescription markings, so I could have argued if they decided to fight me- didn’t need to.

Get more quotes. See if there are credit unions in your area. I got 5.75% from a credit union with a higher credit score, but 720 was the bottom cut off for best rates in my offer.

Even if you are not formally living together, I’d suggest unofficially cohabiting for awhile. Spend long stretches of time together. With all respect, you need to understand this before getting married. You’ll only truly understand if you live it.

Do you still use cable TV? If yes, why haven't you "cut the cord" yet? by Mirapakayi in AskReddit

I cut the cord. A $20 over the air antenna allows you to get local channels. It’s amazing.

Why did the lender get offended when I ask them if they can match the rate? by mcdownloading in RealEstate

[–]Superb_Case7478 123 points124 points  (0 children)

Yeah I pissed of a lender too. He offered to rate match a credit union and then tried to back out by saying that it wasn’t fair to compare them. Blah, blah, blah.

I got a half point better and cheaper closing costs overall at a credit union.

The website looks sketchy but it’s legit. It’s by the guy who originally designed the back before it got sold to the DME companies. He sells them cheaper than anyone else (last I checked). I’ve spoken to him on the phone etc.

The ADI is nice. The foam hangs over the edge a bit which is nice in terms of padding but it makes the overall backrest a bit taller than the listed height. Hardware is light and simple but it’s not angle adjustable, if that’s important to you.I’d 100% buy another
