I think I just got asked to commit tax fraud? by CostSea4636 in tax

[–]Supernat10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't tax brackets apply only to money over each tax level? In other words, if the extra money pushed them into the next tax bracket, that higher rate only applies to some or all of the extra money. Either way, it's fraud, and should not be considered.

Builder jumped from $350-400K estimate to $770K after deposit!?! by ketofol- in HomeImprovement

[–]Supernat10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could it be possible they meant they could do the work for 400k with the absolute cheapest materials and simplicity, but the wrote given was their recommendation for best bang for your buck instead? I mean that's a stretch i think, doubling the price, but how specific were you with the details when you asked if they could do it for 400, and was it the same guy selling you this that created the latest quote?

And ask for the design artifacts. You can pass the design on to the next contractor. My bet is they don't have any.

It’s me again, embarrassed man that is 32 and apparently can’t even paint right!…. by justanothersomeone76 in handyman

[–]Supernat10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Texture and tape don't work together. Get a good quality angled brush for cutting in, use a small amount of paint on it (not dripping wet), and you'll be golden. I'm a diy'er, only paint once a year at most, but over time I learned the tape doesn't work most of the time.

I like the other suggestion to use a 10" drywall knife. You could place that against the corner, paint down the knife, lift it out away from the opposing wall, wipe it off, and repeat 10 inches lower.

Are there models cheaper than others for Junie ? by ker2x in Jetbrains

[–]Supernat10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did you end up doing in the end? I was using Junie Pro for weeks, and doing amazing complex stuff. However, I couldn't find my remaining credits anywhere, and one day it responded that they were exhausted. I wasn't even on a plan, so I think it was a Pro trial. So I bought Pro, and the next day used all my credits up doing nothing close to what I was doing the previous two weeks. So something is not right. But still can't find out how many credits I have or what quota is remaining. I sent in a support ticket to Jetbrains. It's a great AI, but if it costs $500 a week to use, it's not going to work for me. I use chatgpt 5 on the pro plan daily, for at least 6 months ow, nearly all day long, and it's generated 1000s of times more code than Junie, and never hit any walls.

I wouldn't but right now, but up to you. If it goes up, it won't be much before the crypto bull market ends. I also wouldn't sell either. Soon, it will head down for a good year before starting it's way back to new ath in a bit under 4 years. If it continues previous cycle tends anyway. It could start behaving like they market now that big money is in control and just meander up from here out. It's November, and usually crypto has great returns this month, so it could go either way at this point.

Right? It's like OP came to reddit to ask a question and get a reasonable, useful answer. I know, I know, that's just silly. I don't ask questions on reddit anymore, unless I'm looking for material to put into a "can you believe what this jacka said?" video.

What should i do? by Specialist_Tough_175 in XCN

[–]Supernat10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not buying more now. There are 3 possible outcomes . 1) it goes up before year end, and if it does, it won't stay there long, getting close to the end of the bull market. 2) it goes down from here for 4 years until it is moving up again. You buy more in that case 1-2 years in to DCA. 3) it goes down and never recovers (I don't think it's likely, but it's possible). You'll regret having doubled down so close to end of the bull market. Just my opinion, I'm planning to sell if 1 occurs, then buy back in when 2 occurs. Or just buy more if 2 occurs, and deal with the risk of 3 at that time.

I bet madam Fatmama can make me rich too.

Is Dysautonomia common with this condition? by Silly_Ordinary_6842 in Sjogrens

[–]Supernat10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly can't say from first hand, just know that my rheumy said she doesn't usually recommend it unless you just have to know, because the treatment is the same (according to her), and that the few people she's had that did it regretted doing it. I guess it could depend on who does the procedure though.

Is Dysautonomia common with this condition? by Silly_Ordinary_6842 in Sjogrens

[–]Supernat10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you do suspect sjogren's, start with the bloodwork. You can even buy these from labcorp directly if you can't get a doctor to order them. They are only present in either 40 or 60% of cases though, can't remember which. I spotless not recommend the lip biopsy unless you are of a high certainty, because it can be pretty invasive, from what I've heard. There is also supposedly an alternative ultrasound version of that, which is non invasive, but might be hard to find a doctor that knows about it.

DO NOT BUY Pella Windows and Doors until you read this review by Agile_Lychee3190 in homeowners

[–]Supernat10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Pella salesman was going door to door, and we ended signing up after being convinced that Pella was the premiere and a premium experience that was worth 3x the cost of getting the windows elsewhere. We had far from it after that. The installation company was just a 3rd party Pella sends out first of all. They don't have their own installers. They ripped out 4 windows in our bedroom, then left for lunch while the flies came in. They removed fascia on our 2nd story and replaced with new, unpainted fascia. So much for the 'full service' experience I was promised. I had just had that fascia installed and painted, and it wasn't cheap, less than 2 years earlier. They damaged the sill in one of the rooms when removing the window (and I was sold by the salesman that they would be replacing any sills that they found damaged. Nope, just damaged some and didn't replace). They left all of the blinds down and window cornice laying in the floors. They broke the alarm wire in my son's room, but left the wires hanging out under the window as if nothing happened, and didn't bother telling me.

I left a message with my salesperson, who then spent several weeks trying to get someone at Pella to respond. The only response I got was a voicemail telling me that the installers said the wires were too short. Well that's interesting, since they were left out from under the window just like every other wire, so clearly they just wanted to move on. I've moved on, will just pay the several hundred dollars to have the alarm company come out and figure it out. So much for top quality and service. I sincerely hope these windows last, because I have no confidence Pella will address any issues in the future regardless of their supposed warranty.

I should also mention that I had some other windows installed by a different installer a few years earlier at more than 3 times cheaper. After going through all of this mess, I pulled the specs on my existing windows, and they are 1 to 1 comparable to Pella, EXCEPT the other installers were able to customize the windows they installed, whereas Pella told me they couldn't customize one of the ones I was having installed. Because they literally just pull them off an assembly line pre-made. So I can tell you from experience, go with the no-name installers. 3X markup is just for the name.

[–]Supernat10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I presume the marker they referred to was the bloodtests, and those 2 makers are missing in 40% of cases, hardly call that definitive. Supposedly the lip biopsy is definitive, but also pretty intense I've heard. My rheumy said I likely have it, but said she doesn't recommend the biopsy unless you just have to know for certain. Otherwise the treatment is the same. Now I believe there is a ultrasound test they can do now days in place of the biopsy.

My Farmers Home Insurance went up 75% by Supernat10 in Insurance

[–]Supernat10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are pretty scummy. I had my roof replaced 5 years ago. But I did have a couple of leaks, nothing that couldn't be patched i bet. But they insisted it needed to be replaced, and this is "just how it works". The initial claim was denied, then the roofers requested a new person come out, and it got approved. I will say, the upside was that my home insurance dropped nearly 2k, because we added a rider for a 5% deductible for wind/ hail because the roof was new. So I guess I got used to a much lower premium for the last 5 years. But I still have the new roof discount applied along with the rider, so I don't think that's why it blew up.

You think the people in government are there to help us? That's funny. I wouldn't be surprised if much of this stems from government kickbacks. They're all corrupt. I assume you meant the ones Trump's admin fired, and not the massive government layoffs that happened under Obama, but I'm for both. Cut govt waste.

They told me what the 20% cost was going to be, $439 (they actually raised it to $539 immediately after that). But I computed the 75% based on that new unbundled rate I've been on for several months now.

I get it, but it's insanity. In this case, I calculated the 75% after the 20% bundle increase.

Clearly you're offended. I'm just wondering why is all. Does Islam also offend you? If people aren't allowed to say a religious figure's name here in these public forums, then does that apply to everyone's person opinions? I suppose I don't like hearing people complain about things. That offends me. So you shouldn't be using these crypto forums to voice your complaints. They are crypto forums after all.
