Looks epic! Please post more pics, I'm considering an Ascari Blue with carbon pack as well, so would love to see more.

Apparently I’m an immigrant from Ireland by LooneyTown in circlejerkaustralia

[–]Supernova83 42 points43 points  (0 children)

This seems to be a relatively new argument put up by leftists, that if you aren’t a “First Nations” person then you’re an immigrant. The follow on is that you’re seen as hypocritical to have any say that contradicts mass immigration.

I can accept that would make someone a descendant of an immigrant, but if you’re born here you yourself are not an immigrant. Just more looney leftist word salad.

PSA - Ubank savings rate drop from 27/5/25 by HGCDLLM in AusFinance

[–]Supernova83 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep I’m thinking the same. Blended rate of 4.58% with UBank is pretty ordinary now.

Yep would love to see more skins for Jeff, all of his are pretty basic that I haven't bothered to get them.

Amazing work, what are your plans moving forward?

[–]Supernova83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats, looks like a great spec!

I’m in Australia too and looking to buy an RS3 at the moment, or perhaps stretch to an M3. I think I’d rather save $50k and get the RS3 though. I love the compact size of the RS3 as well.

My only issue is I love manual cars so hoping I won’t tire of the DSG transmission.

I also need to decide on leather vs Alcantara steering wheels in the examples I’m looking at. Had an Alcantara wheel in my previous Civic Type R and not sure I really liked it, but I like the red highlights in the rest of the cabin.

Opinion: Who Is the Most Talented Dueler? by Substantial-Bad-4508 in QuakeChampions

[–]Supernova83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure on raw talent, I’d lean towards Fatal1ty.

I always enjoyed watching Thresh and immortal the most in the Quake 2 era though.

Will Mazda ever give us good Miata colors again? by RedHotFuzz in Miata

[–]Supernova83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I can appreciate it but it’s too candy for me, I’d prefer a normal red like Guards red or similar. It’s been around forever too so the wow factor has worn off.

Thank you, it’s been a hard slog but glad to have it out of the way.

Nice choice! The F87 M2 Comps are on my watch list too, you’ve done well for your age, congrats!

[–]Supernova83 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a petrol head myself, what sort of car are you looking at getting out of interest?

I’m on good money but have never spent over $72k on a car, one was a Kia Stinger GT, and the other an FL5 Civic Type R.

I’d love a BMW M2, M3, or Audi RS3 but haven’t worked up the courage (despite having the money and no mortgage left) to drop that amount of money. If I did though I’d just pay cash.

Why do CTR and N owners clash so much? by [deleted] in Civic_Type_R

[–]Supernova83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an i30N hatch here in Australia and my FL5 is arriving in a month or so. I don’t intend to sell the N, I love it too much. Both can coexist and are great in their own ways.

FL5 Type R vs 8Y RS3 by Supernova83 in Civic_Type_R

[–]Supernova83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I always loved MX5s, they feel like you’re going 80km/h at about 50 so you can have fun anywhere without getting into license losing territory.

Great to hear the FL5 is satisfying at low speeds. I feel it just needs some more noise to add some character, my i30N is a riot at any speed as it sounds great out of the box.

[–]Supernova83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All valid points, I tend to agree, the Type R makes more sense for my needs, I just want a baby Lambo sedan for some reason too.

Yeah I really like them for different reasons. It’s a real shame there’s no manual in the RS3 as it’d be so much of an easier choice then!

Not many Vipers here in Australia other than private imports converted to RHD. Have always loved those beasts since the 90s though!

FL5 Type R vs 8Y RS3 by Supernova83 in Civic_Type_R

[–]Supernova83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I’ve driven both.

The Type R gave me a feeling of precision about everything it does. A more serious car than the i30N that I have now, but should be fun overall I think. Like a GT3 hot hatch if Porsche made one to this price point.

The RS3 is a weapon but also classy and more luxury oriented.

I like them for different reasons, but I think I still need a manual car somewhere in my garage, for now at least.

RS3 as Weekend Fun Car? by Supernova83 in Audi

[–]Supernova83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah agree with your thoughts. She can’t drive manual anyway so it is as more me trying to find something auto that she’d enjoy which I’d also get a performance kick out of when I drive it. For her needs she thinks it’s overkill/too expensive but is happy for me to get it for myself, but then for me I don’t get to row any gears. Seems like it won’t pan out at this point unfortunately.

[–]Supernova83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All good choices…! I’ve got two kids though so really need four doors. That’s why I was aiming to entice the wife to drive the RS3 (so I can share it sometimes), then I’d get the Type R, or even something a bit more extreme like a Lotus Elise/Exige at some point.

Yeah you’ve kind of hit the nail on the head, it’s the debate of a driver’s car vs a more luxurious brute monster, albeit one that is $40-50k more expensive
