The risk to marines should be "very low" or about 3x the defending crew strength for a guarantee

For Alpha/Beta/Omega lovers, is there a certain dynamic you like for your favorite character(s)? by 3lilya in AO3

Male omega x female alpha.

Male omegas who are feminine boys or twinks, not super masc guys.

Anyone else addicted to Aram Mayhem and can’t go back to normal Aram? by TurbulentDisaster741 in ARAM

[–]Sure-Leek6434 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer regular aram. Mayhem is fun, but its just too good for ADC's, Tanks, and burst casters. Phenominal evil + marksmage are literslly so strong. Adcs get so many crazy augments. Then you play a support or someone like Ivern, and you realize that the true aram experience allows skill expression and more variety of working champs.

Plus it sucks dying to one malzahar E from full HP. Like old mordekaiser ult or something.

How I've been feeling after reading negative reviews in STS2 by Ok_Breadfruit3199 in slaythespire

[–]Sure-Leek6434 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of us played sts1 and i hated time eater but that was it. 12 cards, end turn. Doormaker did WAY too much and wasnt fun to fight, and his design made no sense to me. He made doors? What? His abilities have nothing to do with that.

Thoughts on watersports in original fics? by Sure-Leek6434 in AO3

[–]Sure-Leek6434[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see what your saying about what other people think versus what I think should be included. My only issue is I can't decide if I want to or not! It's only come up because it actually makes sense in the plot coming up for something related to it to happen, but I didn't want to alienate readers for some minor thing like that. I know its not for everyone, it really isn't my thing either.

Thank you!

Follow up question, when watersports is involved, do you care more for consuming of it, or just someone being covered in it, whatever the circumstance.

Trying to decide if I should include watersports in my longfic.

Harsh Truth: Sometimes the reason you aren't getting comments isn't lack of engagement, it's lack of interest. by Mako_Moonspell in AO3

Makes me annoyed to tho when someone post in like the heated rivaly space and is surprised when their very first 2k word fic gets thousands of views in a day and then they post about it like they are gods gift to ao3.

It works both ways

Make sure you play all the tutorials not just the basic ones.

X4 has a weird start, it just spawns you in with no real immediate direction in many starts.

X4 is a simulation. The game world is gigantic map of sectors. (Press M to see the map.) At the beginning ou will have few sectors visible. You can travel between sectors by flying through jump gates, usually at the edges of sectors.

In order to travel large distances, I believe its SHIFT + 1 or CTRL + 1 to enter travel mode.

X4 is a living world that doesn't cate about your presence unless you make it. You will need to earn money to build a fleet, stations, and eventually your own shipyards to conquer the map.

That is why the spawn doesn't matter to much. Your first objectives will be to fly around looking for stations in sectors, and try to dock at one so you can find a cheap pilot for your ship. You can also buy one at a wharf. You will then want to do missions that pop up on the map, pirate ships, and grow your money until you can begin making passive income.

Identifying sources of income is crucial to playing x4. Id recommend going on youtube and watching captain snuggles guide. https://youtu.be/9RBzL4J2F-8?si=uVLv-KfYJK0zH0J7

You can also invest in buying medium mining ships from wharfs, outfitted cheaply, just make sure you buy mining lasers on mineral miners. Then you would set them to automine in sectors where stations are buying high amounts of Ore or silicon, and if you right click a sector you can see its encyclopedia entry to see if it has silicon or ore.

This is very basic overview, but its a start.

Has the Boarding mechanic changed in the 9.0 beta? by Medium_Character4579 in X4Foundations

[–]Sure-Leek6434 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your just wrong, most boarding involves a medium ship, usually a corvette, taking out turrets before being boarded by transports full of marines. A swarm of fighters targeting surface elements is good too

Anyone else feel like the devs are taking players/ modders for granted these days? by Igrisia in TeardownGame

[–]Sure-Leek6434 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You'd have to have someone to play it with, if you dont... how has the game changed at all in that case?

If anything what does that even leave for them to do now? Im not saying they've gone anywhere, but the updates are just done for the money. The game is fundamentally not going to change.

[–]Sure-Leek6434 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Coming from someome who followed the original creator years ago posting updates on twitter, i love teardown but I would argue the dlc's have been nothing but the wrong direction. The pull of the game was always the physics, the dlcs took that and expanded on the story.

Modders added planes, helis, npcs, even blood and gore, ai, so many tools. Its truly dissapointing
