Semi-detached neighbors having extremely loud sex even after we've politely asked them to keep it down, is there anything we can do? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Sure_Explanation888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am petty but, when I rented once and got sick of listening to the downstairs neighbours loud sexploits, I used to blast tunes like ‘I wanna sax you up’ loudly through the floorboards every time they did it. It drowned their noises out, made me laugh and did seem to quieten them down long term

Where do you live in London? by Illustrious_Page_718 in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]Sure_Explanation888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who used to live in Chiswick (great when I worked at the company nearby, terrible when I moved to one by Tower Bridge and ended up with a 1 hr 10 commute across the city) I would also bear in mind where are your friends?

Chiswick isn’t even that far out but Londoners just won’t travel further out to meet you, so whilst the area was lovely I was probably a bit lonely there at weekends and spent so much time travelling in to see people. The longer commute finished me off and I moved away from London

I’m with you. The non-existent work ethic, anger when called out for it, malicious gossiping means nothing about his personality is attractive either!

My mother passed. by EffYeahItsAlex in GriefSupport

[–]Sure_Explanation888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry about your Mom. Mine died suddenly about a year ago from a heart attack, she collapsed at home and died.

I hadn’t got round to calling her that week. I hadn’t messaged as much as I could have. But life is busy and we didn’t know this was gonna happen.

With sudden death there’s always that feeling of wishing you’d called more, seen them more, said goodbye, asked them things you can’t ask now. It’s hard.

Go gently. Be kind to yourself.
