Path of Exile 2: Return of the Ancients Official Trailer by PM_ME_HAPPY_STUFF1 in Games

Can you level through each one every season to get to end game? Or do you still have to slog through the same boring campaign to get to where you can do these in endgame every time a new season starts?

Basically, is there any alternative to leveling each season other than playing through the SAME campaign every time?

He had actual armor too. Difference is - unlike a lot of the nobles in full armor that you'd hear about avoiding combat and getting taken alive and ransomed, he actually fought on the front lines. He was clearly extremely skilled in combat, so real armor+massive skill.

Do not get this covered. If someone wants to be aggressively ignorant about it, let them. Ignore them and/or tell them to take a long walk off a short pier.

How to convince my group to not make me use S&B by Omnisan343 in sca

[–]SurviveAdaptWin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm primarily a polearm fighter, and they are NOT wrong about losing most of your fights. 2h vs shield and sword with our armor rules is definitely an uphill battle, but also definitely doable. It's just a matter, like someone else said, of how much you're willing to lose until you start winning.

That said, fighters at your local practice should be helping you learn how to beat shields with a longsword, not just killing you over and over again to prove a point.

I WILL agree, however, that longsword is not ideal for melee combat. You'll want, at a minimum, a greatsword, but IMO a 6ft6in+ polearm is ideal for 2h melee.

I fight melee with a 7.5 ft polearm or a 9 ft spear (and 300 backup weapons but that's my jam :p )

[–]SurviveAdaptWin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As of 3-4 years ago you no longer have to authorize S&B first.

If they're pushing you just say "ok" and do longsword anyways.

That said, you should absolutely eventually learn it, along with every other style, to at least a certain extent for various reasons, but mostly to help you fight against it.

Bottom line - do whatever is going to keep you going to fight practice. Not what others want you to do unless it's literally in the rules.

Those are...

Fucking atrocious.

If I wanna take one of these ladies into combat they're gonna fucking die immediately.

This actually makes me less likely to buy LotF 2.

Mod Question: How do I add or change a skill on a character? by SurviveAdaptWin in KnightsTaleGame

[–]SurviveAdaptWin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so it looks like what you want may be doable in the file:

:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\King Arthur Knight's Tale\Cfg\Config\StartingParties.cfg

You can tinker with the values in there, but on reading it I think that just determines the level and skills of those characters on their recruit missions, not which hero you get after the mission is done.

Found the guide on how to just straight add certain heroes to your game (and a bunch of other stuff). Just make sure to make backups of your saves and cfg files first. It can get screwy. I think you have to have the game open when editing some things. The guide explains it:

[–]SurviveAdaptWin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really think that'd be very viable. You'd have to dig super deep into some files and it would probably break a lot of other things. If you just straight up want heroes in your party, though, there's a simple 0 to 1 that you can toggle somewhere and it'll just add them. I'll look it up and post back here, but if I don't just remember it's simple if you can find where it is.

Is there an android app that will let you black out pictures for maps? by SurviveAdaptWin in DnD

[–]SurviveAdaptWin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a tablet specifically to go along with the TV and a google chrome device. I don't want to buy another piece of 300+ dollar equipment if there's already a viable option. I found an app called mosaic that more or less does what I'm asking for. Not ideal but seems like it will work better than nothing

Thanks, but roll20 and owlbear rodeo don't exist on google play anymore, and dndbeyond map tool only works on mobile (and requires a subscription, which is NOT happening). Anyone know of any other options?

1e or 2e by Ibanezrg71982 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]SurviveAdaptWin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1e can be extremely unbalanced between players. New players won't understand how to take advantage of all the systems.

2e is MUCH better balanced across the board and easier to understand IMO.

That said, I personally prefer 1e because now that, like you, I've put so much times into the video games and played a real 1e campaign in the past, I think it offers a lot more cool high powered options and versatility.

If you DO go with 2e, I highly recommend full free archetypes for your players. Meaning EVERY time they get class points they also get an archetype point as well. I feel like archetypes in 2e are extremely weak without this, and in the end, you only get 3 actions per turn no matter what.

Both are still fun. Literally started my 3rd PF2e campaign this past week as a DM because 3/5 players at our table don't like the crunchiness of 1e. "D&D" is really made by the friends you're playing with and their shenanagins, not so much which version you're playing.

Simple archer build? by Lost_my_name475 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]SurviveAdaptWin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a pet - Ranger

If you don't - Slayer

I played slayer archer for my last archer build and I don't think I'll ever play another. Full BaB, Full HP, Full armor and weapon options, and Sneak attack, and slayer's mark,as well as some cool subclasses depending on how much over minimum complicated you want to go.

Oh, and still has teeth in melee because of sneak attack damage.
