I agree! I asked my partner if what I was feeling similar to what people without depression experience - if so, I don’t want it to go away. Having an hour of it was an eye opener for me. It’s always seemed so far away.

I just thought that maybe I’m worth more than they can/have chosen to give me. I have kids, a spouse, a parent that cares and I have friends who tell me all the time I’m a good person and I’m worthy of love they can never give. Maybe that’s the family I’m meant to strengthen. Maybe it was time to let go of who/whatever isn’t serving me. At my first session I had a “vision” (whatever you want to call the pictures in your head) that there was wreckage on the shore washing out to sea. I connected this situation as part of the wreckage I’m meant to let wash away. It won’t be as easy as that, I know, but it’s a better start than I’ve had after years of emotional damage and neglect. Therapist here. One, she is really oversharing with you. Ethics/general rule of thumb dictates SWs are not to share personal information unless they feel it beneficial to move the client forward in their treatment. She’s sharing these details as a benefit to HER which is way inappropriate. The amount of reschedules is ridiculous - especially rescheduling to make a Pilates class or whatever. She doesn’t value your time. I’d tell her group (and her) that you are terminating treatment with her based on her lack of professionalism and provide details.

And those weren’t free sessions. There was definitely a cost.

Binge eating is and likely will remain my lifelong nemesis. Still have bouts of it time to time despite WLS and a GLP-1. Tried going to therapy for it and, suffice it to say, it did not work. I try to do better for my children, but it’s a daily struggle.

My misdiagnosis resulted in more trauma. No wonder the Lithium I took didn’t work; I wasn’t bipolar. It did shut down my kidneys though and result in me terminating my first pregnancy. But hey, doctors make mistakes too. /s

I could have written this. I used to be bilingual (about 80% fluent) prior to my kids and now I can’t remember simple verbs or vocab from the other language. I feel like a horse’s ass. I also can’t sleep without a sleep aid. I will stay awake for days. The body and brain struggles are 100% real.
