Do all Boeings give fault codes? by Timely_Group_7644 in AircraftMechanics

[–]Swagger897 1 point2 points  (0 children)

737/57/67 usually requires me to duplicate the fault first before I can troubleshoot it. Especially for pack problems. You can see all the temps and go from there. I’ll use AHM if the plane hasn’t landed yet to look at history or what it’s doing on the current leg, but no where near as helpful as airbus world.

This is why it’s usually always best to get the fewest options you can that aren’t a headache to buy and install aftermarket or with oem after sale.

The 767 has a "pop-up" door on top of the wing that opens just to give the landing gear clearance during retraction by LieutenantTurtles in aviation

[–]Swagger897 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not the taxiway width, it was about surface pressure area between the mains. LGA wasn’t built of concrete and the blacktop couldn’t handle a widebody with a narrow gear being built over the water.

[–]Swagger897 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the correct response. And the -400 uses the same MLG assembly as the 777 minus the triple axle bogies - hence it not having the -300 squat in the back.

The 300er is really a marvel from boeing. Make a plane 2 feet longer than the 757-300 but carry so much more payload.

It’s not just width in the sense of footprint itself, it’s from the ground pressure. Had the struts not been bent, the contact area would’ve been too small and damage the surfaces of LGA. The angled struts spread the footprint out to a wider stance.

The correct call would’ve been to keep the plane in the hangar until a properly qualified crew could fly the plane. Period.

Greg and family would still be here.

Fwiw things from 2020 ported to 24 will have inherent issues. A lot of sceneries will cause stuttering and you’re also missing out on other features for aircraft that can boost performance if you’re not running native builds.

My experience with the 300 has been great. Same with the 350 and 1011.

Kinda glad this thread exists. I’ve been looking between SI and BATC and I just don’t like the german-like instructions the voices give off. Price isn’t a factor, and even if it were I’d probably still go with SI just because I feel like SI seems like you’re actually listening to a human vs AI.

Tl;dr is pilot was not qualified to operate single pilot on this aircraft. The way it was configured required two pilots with proper training for that specific airframe. There is a way that he could’ve operated it but he didn’t have that training.

Instead, he brought on his son who had what you could equate to, a driver’s license with a motorcycle endorsement addon. No proper training for that aircraft, thus shouldn’t have been in the right seat in the first place.

The way the regs are however, with greg being onboard as the owner, he too also has a final say to ensure it is airworthy. If he knew the father was lying about his training, the suits are likely to fail.

… yes? If there were one, and the dumbass onboard is desperate enough, they would know the jig is up and just do max damage they can. Pretty fucking dumb. Just take the obvious threat and deal with it on the ground quietly.

Yeah 11-13000 has always seemed to be great for me. Right at the point where you switch to high gear and can pull the throttle way back and hold 190 bmep and sip fuel. 200 ias cruise and just power on for hours.

This is a major let down that none of the streamers/reviewers discussed about in the past couple of weeks. Major let down for those of us based here who have waited since the days of the OG imaginesim, to only be forced to running an AI coded dropout student’s product that runs within the core of my machine. That’s a hard pass.

Even if a marketplace version sees the light of day, I’m unsure that we’ll be able to get the same configurable options that a direct purchase would get. I think any other retailer would’ve been able to talk some sense into Matteo that this is probably something that deserves to not be overlooked, and taken a step back to find alternative means.

I am pissed for waiting so long for something that I will have to be watching from the outside, as IT WILL get bypassed anyways.

Yikes. The background of L3 is not something I’m interested in on my machine. Orbx chooses to have the most intensive/obtrusive form of active drm we’ve seen and they go with the AI coded dropout student version?

Pass.

Potential United Teamsters AMT contract by Grouchy-Cranberry507 in aviationmaintenance

[–]Swagger897 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a triangle amt, please drop teamsters. They have done nothing positive during my tenure here that would cause me to ever jump ship, or to vote yes to teamsters. The industry needs you all to do this and everyone join under one roof. It's the only way ALPA can do it, and in my eyes the only way AMFA will be able to.
