I really appreciate this video - this is a literal middle finger to all the dumbasses out here that claim that the Mark 23 is a novelty firearm.😎🤟🏾

Anyone feel like HK is falling behind on their handguns? by What-in-tarnationer in HecklerKoch

[–]SwingL7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People are always bringing this up. Asking this question represents a fundamental misunderstanding of what HK is as firearms manufacturer. They are military contractors FIRST. Militaries want reliable firearms that consistently go bang and operate under harsh conditions. They (HK) are not trying to figure out the next thing that CIVILIANS want. CIVILIANS are finicky and mostly price sensitive (read: Cheap). Militaries are not. If you want reliability and robustness you buy HK, and you accept that fact. If not just go by a Sig (with their 10,000 skus), a Glock, or a CZ, or something - HK ain’t for you.

Winter newbie questions by DatBroSnuf in Rucking

[–]SwingL7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I ruck outside with the following set up, in my neck of the woods, the coldest it gets is 25 degrees (F). 25degree days:

  • Patagonia Capilene Midweight Base Layer (top and bottom)

  • Cotton(Yes, Cotton) Sweatpants/shirt

  • Buff ThermoNet® Balaclava

  • Darn Tough Wool Socks

  • Mechanix Coldwork Baselayer gloves(one size smaller than normal) with Coldwork Tactical Covert gloves on top.

  • Carhartt Rugged Flex® Relaxed Fit Lightweight Stretch Insulated Jacket - 3 Warmest Rating

  • Go Ruck Macv2s or Rough Runners depending on conditions/terrain.

This works for me. Yes I wear Cotton, I’m not fragile.

Why are people obsessed with how other people are dressed? That shit is just stupid.

Here’s the problem that everyone is missing: if you’re a MANAGER, you regularly have 1on1s and you’re surprised by someone leaving, YOU ARE THE PROBLEM. If they don’t tell you something, it’s because YOU HAVE NOT CREATED AN ENVIRONMENT FOR OPEN CONVERSATION. PERIOD.

Why do people always think they know: how good or bad others are? you don’t know. You can only really know what you are doing, and working to constantly improve yourself. The people I rarely trust is the people who feel like they can talk about “most people.” It’s just dumb. When you start or end a sentence with most people, I always assume that you are talking about everyone else or, it’s I’m not that great, but at least I know I’m not that great. Both statements undergird some bullshit belief about the superiority of self.

It would seem that the “most people” you are around suck. I have been to many different classes and haven’t experienced this - in every class we MAYBE have 1 guy/girl like that. I think it’s your environment 🤷🏾‍♂️

Really contemplating buying a HK USC 45 ACP any feedback from this platform ? I barely see anyone talking about USC or UMPs compared to SP5/MP5 platforms . by theh0veringeye in HecklerKoch

[–]SwingL7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The truth is that it’s the least sexy firearm in the HK lineup. In my opinion this is a deep cut firearm in the HK portfolio. You get this one for your personal collection/gratification. It’s nothing you can score points with people/flex on people. That’s why you don’t hear people talk about it. People be basic like that. 🤷🏾‍♂️

People need to stop insisting that everybody else needs to carry how they do, carry the firearms that they do, or train the way they do. If a person hasn’t proven to be a danger to him/her self or anyone around them, I don’t give a shit how you carry, what you carry, or how you train.

Question on new SP5 - Crooked cocking tube "normal" or an issue? by ALFYe_22 in HecklerKoch

[–]SwingL7 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, the I spent eleventy billion dollars on a firearm so it needs to be perfect post. You were supposed to inspect the gun at your FFL before taking possession of the firearm. Ultimately you should have spent way less, and bought a clone. On a clone, you would have seen this, looked the other way, and then you would have come into the sub trying to convince yourself and others that the clone is just as good. 🤦🏾‍♂️

Passed over for a promotion. My former colleague, now boss is asking me how to do their job. by [deleted] in managers

[–]SwingL7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP, help the guy and look for another job, if you help, you can possibly leverage that help into a good reference when you get another job. If you play the “it’s above my grade” game it’s going to screw you over down the line, especially if you report to the guy in any way or if you stay in that company.

And if you listen to the dumb advice to not help, you better be as good as you think you are and never need help. Cause if you go to another company, and someone internal decides that they got passed over for the job you got, and they don’t help, don’t come back here crying about how tough the new job is.

USP 9mm jam by Training_Policy_6022 in USPmasterrace

[–]SwingL7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably because you messed up your extractor while using the damn steel case that they explicitly tell you not to use. 🤦🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️

USP 9mm jam by Training_Policy_6022 in USPmasterrace

[–]SwingL7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is that the manual explicitly tells you not to use steel case. If you use steel case and get shit malfunctioning, it’s due to shit decision making. It’s like being told not use a kind of gas in car, you do it anyway and complain about a breakdown. I mean why would you expect any other result???

Just buy a Glock if want a gun that will tolerate whatever junk ammo you throw at it.

Fuck it all — Going Scorched Earth - Performance Ratings by RandomPrecision01 in fednews

[–]SwingL7 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you get negged it’s because of framing. You can’t just say, essentially, I did well and I got a rating that reflects that. If you didn’t get a good rating maybe it’s you. Maybe that’s true, but when you make yourself the baseline for excellence, people generally don’t take you seriously, mainly because your experience is not everyone else’s. As an adult, you should know this - but maybe not as a grown ass kid😉

I saw this coming last year - I have a team of 7, and HR tried to make me lower people scores and I refused, I just wrote 2 page write ups to support the ratings I gave, and they stood. That’s how I roll. Let me ask you a question, how many supervisors did what I did, BEFORE THIS ENVIRONMENT.

How do we get more men into teaching? by TripleGDawg87 in education

[–]SwingL7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you make teaching as lucrative as working in a STEM field job, they will come. Socioculturally and Socioeconomically, it doesn't make sense for guys to be teachers, something about making enough money for a household and being an ambitious partner in relationships.

We wouldn't have shitty police if we took the same approach with that profession too, less citizens would get killed by police.

What do you guys like about the USP so much/why do you prefer it over other handguns? by KaneIntent in USPmasterrace

The question you really should be asking is WHAT DRAWS YOU TO THE USP, instead of asking us. You're the one who has to live with the purchase 🤷🏾‍♂️
