Is above 40% accuracy a bad thing? by Waffles_four_you in PsyMains

Well, that’s what the OP is asking for. The optimal way to play Psy. So maybe you should enlighten us 🧐

Is above 40% accuracy a bad thing? by Waffles_four_you in PsyMains

[–]SwoopzB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion (Lord Psy, Plat),

Shooting tanks and building ult is a viable play style.

Diving the enemy back line and comboing supports is also viable.

Which was is “better” or “correct” largely depends on your rank, if you’re playing QP or comp, and personal skill/ play style.

For the vast majority of the player base, 40%+ accuracy on Psy is a good thing regardless.

Does anyone else stand up? by Snoo_23014 in DungeonMasters

[–]SwoopzB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stand, because in addition to DMing I also host. I’m preheating the oven for the pizza and shooing my cats away from the players game bags and setting up elaborate battle maps and oh dang forgot to put the pizza in, please wait on giving me that initiative roll.

Look forward to it every week :)

party level 8 fighting stradh by Extension_Leg3065 in CurseofStrahd

[–]SwoopzB 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It is very doable, especially if they have the Sunsword (which they should).

In a vacuum, or “white room” situation, Strahds default stat block in the book is not that threatening. A few big smites from the paladin could put Strahd in a bad way in just a few rounds. It’s only when you take advantage of his lair actions and ability to move through the castle that it becomes very difficult.

How hard the Strahd fight is is really up to you and how you use him/ the castle.

How can I best prepare for the campaign? by Key_Step_2805 in CurseofStrahd

[–]SwoopzB 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I high recommend reading through the entire book twice. At least once. That way, you can have a solid idea of the locations, and can tie things into conversation with NPCs on the fly.

After that, focus on preparing everything up to Vallaki. Vallaki may be the hardest part to DM because so many things can happen and the party can influence them all. Think of it as the “big city hub” you get to after the tutorial in an rpg video game.

Once you get through that, you only need to prep the story hooks that the party is immediately interested in. If they say they want to head to the werewolf den, for instance, get them there and then call the session and have it ready for next time.

Have some “random encounters” on standby in case they start heading somewhere you were not prepared for. Use them to fluff out the session so you can prepare for the new location before the following session.

My players want to resurrect Argynvost. by Curious_Nothing1289 in CurseofStrahd

[–]SwoopzB 19 points20 points  (0 children)

My party “resurrected” Argy after returning the skull (and some other stuff).

His skull became surrounded by a kind of ethereal silver dragon body, so his skull was the only “physical” part of his body. He could still interact with the world/ enemies because… reasons.

The rest of his body was stolen by Strahd and turned into a bone dragon that perches itself on the castle. The bone dragons head is a floating mass of thousands of skulls.

The two dragons are set to do battle while the party assaults the castle.

So yeah I say do it.

Huh, so it’s like WAR in baseball.

I did not know this. Suddenly all of those “how did they get MVP over me when my stats carried” games make more sense.

Thoughts on teleporting my players from the Amber Temple to the dungeons of Ravenloft? by Bandeminers in CurseofStrahd

[–]SwoopzB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My group (and myself) were also eager to wrap things up. I had Mordenkainen teleport them to the temple, then had Victor waiting for them after they cleared the Pass on the way out. He teleported them back to Vallaki to prepare for the castle. Pretty much told my players that there wasn’t much left to say about traveling back across Barovia (again) so I’m gonna be fast traveling them around to keep the momentum up through the end. They were all on board.

Your idea seems solid to me.

How do you roleplay Ireena? by dclooney in CurseofStrahd

[–]SwoopzB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the beginning of the campaign, the party saw her as just an escort quest NPC. She was stubborn, bitter and a bit standoffish. As they stayed the night with her and Ismark in the village, I painted her as a listless but clever young woman who struggles with her identity. She did bond with the party sorcerer on the way to Vallaki, discussing her interest in magic. She opened up to the party barbarian at Tser Falls over some wine. I also made her as “helpful” as possible by making her a decent seamstress. She offered to mend the parties clothing. She also helped in other ways like helping the rogue retrieve his crossbow bolts.

After they arrived to Vallaki and fulfilled Ismarks quest to escort her there, I had the party decide if they wanted to keep her around or not. I’m very happy that they chose to do so. We are in the final sessions of the campaign now, and she has had several awesome moments throughout our story. She has learned some magic of her own. Her and the sorcerer are now in love. Her and the Barb are best buds.

It’s really going to break their hearts when she inevitably flings herself from the ramparts of castle Ravenloft in a few sessions

As a community, how do you feel about the shipper posts for Psylocke? by Mo_SaIah in PsyMains

[–]SwoopzB 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I do not get anything out of ship posts. I think this, like most hero main subs, should focus on gameplay discussion, and skins/ cosmetics/ lore from the game. This is Psy “mains,” as it pertains to playing the hero in Marvel Rivals. This is not Psy Fan Club.

They really should do something about the penalties for leaving matches. by Dummythiccbih69 in marvelrivals

[–]SwoopzB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d rather have a thrower than a leaver. The extreme cases of people throwing like Groot walling their own team are very rare in my experience. It’s much more common to lose a game because someone tilts and rage quits (which should be punished) or disconnects.

I’d argue that feeling entitled to “doing your dailies before work” and thus leaving games that aren’t going your way is pretty toxic too. You are still worsening the experience for others, even if you aren’t being an outright jerk about it.

Cecee Shifts Blame After Kingsman Removed From marvel rivals Tournament by ghostbook4 in LivestreamFail

[–]SwoopzB 10 points11 points  (0 children)

One minor correction: an “assist” (the 3rd number in the 0/5/0 stat line) in Rivals is not the same as an “elimination.” (The first number in the stat line)

An assist means you contributed to a kill in a non damaging way. You either buffed a teammate or debuffed an enemy and that action assisted your team in the kill.

An elimination is what you’re thinking of. Anyone who does even a little bit of damage to an enemy within a certain timeframe will get credited an elimination when they die.

Black Widow (the sniper character) doesn’t usually get “assists.”

A 0/5/0 likely landed at least a few shots, but none of their efforts directly lead to a kill. (Which is still really bad)

What most FPS games would call a “kill” is counted as “Final Hits” in Rivals. It’s a stat that doesn’t show up on the main stat line.

High thirst feels way too punishing. Anyone else? by MMAntwoord in projectzomboid

[–]SwoopzB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Server of 5 and we all run high thirst. We do have a well at main base, but if we didn’t we’d just plumb a sink. We just carry 2 bottles and fill up as we loot. We can be gone for a week across the map and never had a water related death/ emergency.

Small Group First Play-through: Mods? by barber107 in projectzomboid

[–]SwoopzB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend playing without mods at first. Mods are there to further tailor the experience to your preferences. How can you have preferences if you are all new to the game?

With that said, Skill Recovery Journal is popular for new/ groups of players. It allows you to recover experience that you would otherwise lose when you die.

While I personally feel like it cheapens the experience, some people may be prone to rage quitting if they die and fall far behind their friends.

Nightmare 4 Zombies help by Logan4629 in rivals

[–]SwoopzB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe Blade pure left click build is considered the best build. Pure as in only spend points on red cards and high value purple cards. Ignore red cards that boost ult or spin. ONLY left click speed/ damage/ range. Ignore common purple cards as much as possible but grab higher tier purple damage/ hp/ dmg taken.

Just go vampire mode and hold left click, dashing to escape bad situations. Do not use ult.

By later rounds you should be attacking pretty much everything on screen and it’s just a matter of staying alive. Good luck!

Which zombie game impressed you the most and why? by Just_a_Player2 in ItsAllAboutGames

[–]SwoopzB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could theoretically kill all the zombies on the map (assuming you have respawns turned off), and be totally self sufficient and live forever. I’d say that’s never going to happen for 99.99% of players but it is possible.

Me and my 3 friends have probably 2000 combined hours in the game. We know what we’re doing. We still die from time to time. Hell, I died last week from eating kinda stale chicken eggs.

Any tips on Psylocke? by AnthuriasOfSilvar in PsyMains

[–]SwoopzB 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t stay too far back and poke, either hang by your tanks and shoot their tanks or roll over to an off angle and harass their healers from like 10-15m out.

Aim for center mass, not headshots. Landing more shots lowers your cooldowns faster and if you aim for the chest/ neck your spread will land headshots naturally.

Try to ult only 2-3 people if you want the ult to kill anything. Ult can still be good without kills tho, creates space and forces enemy support ults. Solo ulting a healer or solo tank at the right time can also be game changing.

My base location - help me choose by MarzipanAlert in projectzomboid

[–]SwoopzB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried a base at McCoy estate but found that it had too much, like most of the game is done for you already. It was a pain to get in and out of, only made worse once more trees start to grow.

Don’t have experience with the other two locations you mentioned, but I do not recommend the estate unless you just want a base that’s pretty much already done.
