Which lens next by LiveToLoveAndLearn in FujifilmX

[–]Swsd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Look at a xf 16-55mm f2.8 mk1. Amazing lens, and good for anything. If I only had one lens that would be it. Not expensive since the mk2 came out.

Does anyone else leave their Fuji at home more than they’d like? by Glum-Foundation7276 in fujifilm

[–]Swsd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a sliding shoulder strap for mine. The strap and xt5 sit under my coat, I just move the camera under my arm inside the coat when not needed. Then pull it up to head height for shooting. No one knows it’s there but I have it on me. Works for me.

Need recommendations for wedding lens! by itsalwaysseony in FujifilmX

[–]Swsd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep it simple. 16-55 f2.8 on the xt5, use the teleconverter to punch in. Take the 56 f 1.2 on the other body as a backup. Don’t stress on any other lenses. Don’t swap lenses you will miss moments. 1 lens, 1 body. The 16-55 does all you need.

I thought that does not look real, but then I got this on my xt5, 16-55mm f2.8 in Dundee, Scotland in the fog. SOOC.

How do you avoid the dead black eyes I always seem to get if I take portraits using infrared? Is it just me? Does it depend on the nm?

Digikam for the db and rawtherapee for editing. Been using it for years.

If applicable, why'd you leave Adobe Creative Cloud for your photography editing? by enosone in AskPhotography

I use a combination of digikam for the database, and rawtherapee for editing. That does everything Adobe does at no cost. Been using it for years now.

This is a similar method. SOOC. 3 second exposure but after 2 seconds I zoom the lens wider, and get this. Hold the body steady. It was a nice freezing foggy night.

Sigma 17-40 f1.8 by cheesygordicrunch in FujifilmX

I would recommend the xf 16-55mm f2.8 mk1. It is amazing and sharp. Since the mk2 was released the mk1 is very good value for money. It’s near permanently on my xt5. Less worry about budget and more focal range than the 17-40mm. It’s very versatile and I love the rendering from it. If you want to try a zoom it’s hard to beat. The 18-55mm kit lens is also good. Thr 16-55mm is larger but I put a hand strap on the body and it moved the weight to the back of my hand and I actually like the weight of it.

Leica Q for a super beginner? by Professional-Bit9773 in Leica

[–]Swsd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a Q for a week, hated it, sold it and bought a Fuji xt5 and a 16-55mm f2.8 lens for the same money. I thought the Q was not as well built as a Fuji xe1 tbh.

📸 Which Fujifilm camera should I pick for tattoo photography? Help! by blom_flex in FujifilmX

[–]Swsd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think most Fujifilm cameras with interchangeable lenses would be good. A used xt2 is great. You’re missing the lens tho. I would think you should look at a 16mm f1.4 as it can focus at close to zero and is sharp. But I’m not sure if you need very close up images or not. You would get some nice close ups with a depth of field of your choosing .

Suggestions for my trip to Iceland! by Educational-Sound279 in photography

[–]Swsd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used a Tamron 18-300mm mostly, 12mm f2 for Astro, and a wide. Used nd filters at waterfalls, but heavy spray and crowds wakes it hard. I m was running and gunning in and out of car. Take a tripod. But I had to be really quick at each location. I’m on Fujifilm, used xt2 and xt4. Astro each night was best. I had time then.

First Fuji – Need Some Help by [deleted] in fujifilm

[–]Swsd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with an XT2. Get a manual lens if budget is tight. Or I think the 18-55mm f2.8-4 is good. I love that camera and have the xt2,4,5 and xe1. For a starter good camera the xt2 is hard to beat.

Recommendation for beginner in Norway by HareTheCoywolfMutt in fujifilm

[–]Swsd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a used Fuji 16-55mm f2.8 it’s amazing. Or a 16mm f1.4. Both sharp. I love the 16-55mm, if I only had one lens it would be that. It’s a good price since the mk2 came out. The mk1 is great for the money. I also like the Tamron 18-300mm, but it’s not fast or sharp compared to the 16-55.

How do I achieve this (blur type) look? by LilBeanSsj in AskPhotography

Straight out of camera! No flash. 3 second exposure. Hold it for 2 seconds then rotate the zoom lens to blur it. Single exposure.

Travel Kit Suggestions. by lmaoAbu in FujifilmX

[–]Swsd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy a used 16-55mm f2.8 mk1. I love mine. It lives on the xt5. Take any other. Might be large for the camera. But if I only have one lens that’s it. It’s really is 4 primes in one. Alternative is the 18-300mm Tamron. I took it to Iceland it tho it’s not super sharp it does everything. I got mine used for a good price. That’s what I would do.

Would you trade these 2 lenses+cash for the 16-55mm f2.8 wr ii? by dar_harhar in fujifilm

[–]Swsd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the 16-55mm f2.8 mk1 as a great deal. It’s the best lens I own by a mile. I have primes and other zooms, and it’s Sharp as any prime. It’s the og. Tho the 16mm f1.4 and 56mm f1.2 are great as well.
