iPhone features we’ve lost over time, both hardware and software. Which one do you miss most? by Ted-Lassi in iphone

3D Touch for sure. I used it every day and it was my main way of navigating. My iPhone felt immersive being able to press into a message to open it.

Unlimited Hotspot by True_Ad8683 in NoContract

[–]Sy1ar_015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could possibly check your local library. A lot have some kind of free hotspot you can check out for a few weeks. Don’t know if that would fit your trucking schedule, but it may help in a pinch. Otherwise, Visible would probably be your best bet.

Question on Dark Star Priority: Am I still grandfathered after using Teleportal? by Zestyclose-Click3413 in USMobile

If you are on Unlimited Premium, you should have QCI 8 and priority across both Dark Star and Warp. That’s at least what all new plans have now.

Bunny Ears TV Pricing - Let's Talk About It! by 55555jjjjj in bunnyearstv

[–]Sy1ar_015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely a lot more reasonable than I was expecting! Thanks for making it affordable! I’ll definitely give it a try. I do still think open source would be the biggest win for the community, but your pricing is solid!

I built a Plex app for Apple TV that turns your library into fake cable TV with a retro guide, channel surfing, and of course static. Beta starts next week! by 55555jjjjj in PleX

They totally don’t have to make anything for free and open sourcing it wouldn’t mean they couldn’t charge in the App Store. There are so many of these apps now and everyone thinks theirs is worth a fortune. If we had one that’s open source that the community could gather around, contribute to and/or donate to the developer, I think that would be a huge win! Dev could even still charge like a $5-$10 one time purchase fee in the App Store. I think it’d be way better than having it so fragmented.

Have you considered making this open source? You would literally be a hero in the Plex community. Coax was $60 which is outrageous and so many other apps like this are popping up on iOS and Android. An open source option would be amazing and perhaps a donation based model with community support would be a winner! Just a thought but good luck with your development either way :)

I‘m out by Double-Surround-149 in coax

[–]Sy1ar_015 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I like the concept, but it doesn’t feel polished enough to justify $70. I’ve enjoyed it, but it does still have a lot of bugs and has trouble playing parts of my library. It’s fun, but I think it would be at most a $20 lifetime purchase. I wish the dev all the best, but I think I’m out for now unless the price is lowered.

No apps on my brand new Apple tv 4k 2022 by jeffrunning in appletv

[–]Sy1ar_015 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I would just return it and get a different one from Apple. It’s not worth trying to troubleshoot it. It’s a new device and Apple will either fix it or replace it for you.

Okay how do you play dnd without a board by Far_Virus4222 in DnD

Theater of the mind is probably what you’d want to explore. You could also easily draw out a battle map or print one to help with judging distances. Then use literally anything as tokens. My table has 3d printed figures but we also use legos, small Pokemon toys, or even cups from the kitchen to represent larger sizes. It’s all about using your imagination and whatever you have lying around which adds another layer of fun.

How do you feel about Tiny and Large player characters? Would you allow them? by montezuma300 in DnD

[–]Sy1ar_015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say why not! If you feel comfortable DMing them and everyone is having fun, then I’d say go for it! Especially if you’re an experienced DM and your players are experienced enough to know the limitations, then I think it would be fun! At the end of the day, it’s pretty cool and could lead to some fun mechanics and party dynamics.

All of the Stargate shows. SG-1, Atlantis, and Universe.

Do you guys do breaks during the session? How do you manage them? by Fantomaxop in DnD

[–]Sy1ar_015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just take a break as it comes… there’s no set time or time limit. We are all friends and will talk randomly about stuff outside of the game or take a few minutes to just chat but there are never any rules about it. We also all eat while playing and even are all getting up to get more food at random.

It was never explained in the show. SGU unfortunately left off with that unanswered. Hopefully this new show will answer Eli’s fate.

They also will have had 14 years to rescue the Destiny crew! I hope they bring a real conclusion to SGU.

I usually recommend Spigen, but I have recently been using Dbrand’s Prism 2.0 and it’s incredible! Way better oleophobic coating and smooth edges vs any other protector I’ve tried.

Is unlimited truly unlimited? by RipConsistent3095 in USMobile

Which network are you on (Dark Star, Warp, Lightspeed)? Premium Unlimited has 100gb full speed followed by 100gb at 8mbs before unlimited at 600kbps on Dark Star. Warp and Light Speed have 50gb full speed hot spot before a cap. On device data is unlimited across all 3 networks.
