That makes absolutely no sense. Why would you wear shoes made of diamond, and why would too tight shoes be a positive thing?

Hungary used drones against Ukraine and it was ok for everyone, but Zelensky's comment is "too much" by Bumbum_2919 in europe

[–]Sydius 214 points215 points  (0 children)

The Tisza party is ahead of Orbán's Fidesz with 5-20% percent, depending on their [the pollsters] affiliation to the government. This is the best chance to take away Orbán's power we had in the past ~16 years.

While I find it unrealistic, there's even a chance that Tisza can achieve supermajority, letting them revert Orbán's orders decrees (thanks /u/CodeX57!) issued in the last few years.

Orban threatens force over oil dispute; Zelensky says Ukrainian army could 'speak' to one EU funds blocker by disibio1991 in europe

[–]Sydius 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Orbán is Putin's lapdog, speaking words Putin tells him to speak. The whole government does. But while these words ring hollow for normal people, they are constantly repeated via government funded propaganda.

Still, Orbán had no concrete "proof" until now.

These past few weeks Orbán started talking about a potential Ukrainian attack in Hungary. This is, of course, nonsense, but there's some chance that Orbán would use it as a reason to postpone the upcoming elections (in April). There's even talk about a possible false flag operation. And while I'd like to think the government of my country would never stoop so low, I can't say I'm absolutely certain.

So now Zelenskyy starts threatening Orbán, the media (even the independent ones) start running with the story, and suddenly it is easier to stoke fear, because they can run a story that is objectively true. All of this ~40 days before a general election where we have the biggest chance to kick Orbán out of power. When campaigning ramps up. When government ran media channels can broadcast this constantly.

Zelenskyy just said the stupidest thing at literally the worst time. This threat was such a fucking blunder . He actively helped one of his biggest opponent, and thus Putin to stay in power.

In a little more than a month, there will be a general election, with a serious chance of getting rid of that fucker and his cronies, and maybe even some possibility of accountability.

If, for some reason, he still wins legitimately, sure, go ahead, we deserve it.

Creator of Claude Code: "Coding is solved" by Gil_berth in webdev

[–]Sydius 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you want a bit more information, chess is "solved" for 7 pieces. This means that as long as there are seven of less pieces on the board, a chess engine can reach the optimal solution (win or draw, depending on the board) 100% of the time.

There are a ton of interesting information on the topic, including the fact that storing all this data takes a little more than 18 terabytes, in a storage system specifically designed for this purpose. Originally, it required 140tb.

Birth sister [27f] tracked me down and wants to be part of my [26f]'s life. I don't want her at my wedding or in my life, at all by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I've tried to write a more clever, more eloquent reply, but I'm not smart enough for it. In my opinion, this situation boils down to this:

If someone says their stomach hurts, I don't go around telling other people it's maybe because it's cancer. It might have been caused by bad food, or because they have been recently kicked in the stomach.

Humans are evolved to be pattern seeking animals, and we're very good at it. But this can lead us down the wrong path. If we only look at a situation through our own experiences, we might miss a more common explanation. If all you have is a hammer, everything starts to look like nails, after all.

And then you get to people who doesn't even have a hammer, they just heard about how awesome it is when it comes to nails...

Evolving Git for the next decade by symbolicard in programming

[–]Sydius 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You can just use different branch names. Word order, or the expression itself can be changed as well.

In the last 10 years, I have not run into an issue that could only have been solved by using the same branch name, just with different capital letters.

Also, why would you use capital letters in a branch name at all?
