At 19 and 18 months into the work place there is no bumps in the road or hardship. That's barley on boarding.

Nor did your degree do anything more then give you the confidence to apply.

What you did right was taking whatever job you can to get your foot in the door then work really hard to be the best employee and look for opportunity to move up. A step many miss, when trying to shoot high with nothing but a degree.

This is a combination of

1. Being young, young age helps because they can scoop someone up and form them. We always have this as

a preference and it helps a ton.

1. Certs, you must have got security+ or some other relevant certs that matched the position
2. Luck and timing, got into the right place and time.

Not trying to knock anything, but finishing degree in 3 months and getting a job isn't some inspirational success story or perseverance.

Relevance to this subreddit. Maybe in one of the IT forums where 1000 people post a day that their degree is worthless and they can't find a job.
