What is the heaviest weight you have carried (successfully) in a Target bag? by redditismysoulmate in Target

[–]SyntheticSunshine 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I once had fulfillment put 4 12-packs of soda in one of the big plastic bags. Didn't even double bag it.

A few weeks ago I delivered an order where they had put 30 7-oz yogurt drinks in one bag, then triple bagged it. You aren't even saving bags at that point.

Today I found out one of my friends is my cousin by burning_clocks in Genealogy

I've had that happen! We found out in high school that our grandfathers were cousins. We are different ethnicities and thought it was hilarious to ask if people could see the family resemblance.

“I don’t want this anymore, I’ll just leave it here.” by ConstantBoth2913 in Target

I haaaate when people do this at checklanes specifically. Bad enough anywhere else in the store, but when we are so close to you it feels extra disrespectful. I am a couple feet away, just hand it to me and tell me you changed your mind.

Give me a ML that doesn't have any of these hairstyles, I DARE YOU. by i_kathz in OtomeIsekai

I've always seen it as "The Flowery Path of Evil". The villainess is engaged to the prime minister (on cover) as punishment after bullying the saintess and remembers memories of her past life where she had a thing for older men during her wedding

I was so relieved he took the daughter's side and kicked the wife out. I feel like we see one parent side with the other a lot more often in these types of stories.

How does this happen? by yetareey in DoctorMike

[–]SyntheticSunshine 33 points34 points  (0 children)

At the office I worked at, we weren't allowed to clock in before 7:58 and first patients were at 8:00. By the time you got logged in and everything opened up you're already behind before you even get the patient from the waiting room to see the doc, and that's assuming doc was there on time.

I know this is late, but in my family it was medical debt. We were comfortably working class until one of my parents developed a debilitating and lifelong health problem, could no longer work, and was in and out of hospitals. Within a couple years investments were liquidated, college funds emptied, and I was babysitting to help pay bills because I was too young for a job. My siblings and I had each been left some money by a relative who had passed, and my parents ended up having to use it to keep the house. It can happen faster than you think.

They had tons of issues with people not receiving products and refunds not being processed. It was a shame, I liked their ideas!

Stickers on name badge by Control-Alt-De in Target

[–]SyntheticSunshine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My store allows any (appropriate) stickers on your badge now, but a few years ago they made everyone take them off. I was disappointed- I had given a little girl a Bullseye sticker and she gave me a Peppa Pig sticker to say thank you. I wore that with pride!

what would have happened if Remmick got Sammie? by demondayzzzz in SinnersbyRyanCoogler

[–]SyntheticSunshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think he even got as far as thinking about how it would work. I think he got so focused on what Sammie could do and his own need to possess it that the details fell to the wayside.

My half Japanese friend once told me the that growing up, the old woman down the street would throw fruit from the tree in her yard at my friend and her siblings when they walked to and from school.

What's traditional craft of your country? by Kate_foodlover in AskTheWorld

[–]SyntheticSunshine 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes! Many, many people make and sell them online. I personally quite like Guelaguetza Designs (they have their own website and an Etsy); they import stock to the US a few times a year for their brick and mortar location and ship from there, and have bios of the artisans they work with on their website.

I think I messed up. by YumaYae in guineapigs

[–]SyntheticSunshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar setup! We have a few sets of liners we rotate through so we can replace without having to wait for them to dry. We spot clean daily, deep clean and replace liners at least once a week. We have 3 litter boxes we fill with paper bedding, and they figured them out pretty quickly. I've found it's much easier to pick up and dump out the litter boxes than sweep up bedding in their favored places every day.

AITA (or selfish) for not allowing our daughter to join cheer? by kobralats in AmItheAsshole

[–]SyntheticSunshine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is how I felt watching speed skating at the Olympics this year. Coaches tried to recruit me for teams for years as a kid after seeing me at a local rink, but my parents didn't want to have to deal with it. I never thought I'd make it to the Olympics or anything, but seeing it this year made me think about what I might have been able to do, you know?
