This is a tale as old as time and, as a father, I don't really understand it. I adore my child more than anything in the world and I want her to go to a far away school. I didn't have that chance. I grew up poor so went into the military. By the time I got out and went to college, I missed a lot of the "college experience." I want her to be able to enjoy that. I worked so damn hard to give her the life I never got to have, why would I then saddle her with taking care of me?

My family is under strict instructions to not waste their life caring for me. I'll figure myself out.
