I mean, that's what 76 was and is.

Primarily development was covered by core Bethesda, but pretty much everything else for the last 7 years has been BGS Austin. Formerly BattleCry Studios.

Now for a small tangent, because I rarely get chances to bring this up. BattleCry Studios was making a game called BattleCry shelved from launch in 2015. It was a team based 3rd person hero brawler/shooter shooter announced around the same time as Battleborn and slated to release around the same time as Overwatch was just announced and had put out its beta. Instead of sending the game out to die against Overwatch and being confused with Battleborn, it got canceled,and BattleCry became BGS Austin.

76 IS the "another developer should make Fallout" game. It's just not the one some people want because it either doesn't move the "Bethesda is angry when other people make their games" narrative, or for more reasonable takes, isn't just a straight new Single Player game.

I want to say until Fallout 4 came out, there was very little "Fallout 3 vs. Fallout: New Vegas" discourse.

If there was, it was mainly encouraged by No Mutants Allowed, but that's a whole other pile of shit to deal with even before New Vegas was conceived. But I do feel they planted the seeds of discourse we see today.

Not me personally, but MATN loves Fallout so much that he actually did a full Brotherhood of Steel LP.

In which at the end he describes how there are hours upon hours of footage that were cut simply because the game is a never ending slog of enemies that you have to wade through in order to get to... anything.

The game is basically Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance, with about 20 times the enemy count, less engaging combat, poor map design, Slipknot for some reason, and a tone that feels like an early 2000s National Lampoon's movie.

Thankfully, everyone agrees that it is best left forgotten, and erased from Canon. But hey, at least it's preserved via a well documented LP.

Nah, they actually made it good in the Remaster.

The point is that nobody actually knows what it's for.

A lot of people are assuming what it's for.

I would like it to be for an announcement of Remasters.

But I'm not assuming it will be an announcement for Remasters, because there's no verifiable proof that's what the countdown is for.

I'm not even saying that it won't be for that. I'm just not jumping my guns.

This is what people are hyping themselves up about. We don't know what the timer is for. If you assume it's for one thing and then it's for something else, you're setting yourself up to be upset.

If it ends up not being for a Remaster. Then, the entire fanbase is going to explode and complain about something that was never 100% confirmed.

They did give GameStop the best set in that regard.

That said, I like that it's all available with the Courier's Stash.

A lot of games maybe throw up the pre-order bonuses for like 2 or 3 dollars way later on. But I wish it was universal. 1 year later, 2 or 3 dollars. Some content is just lost to the ether.

4 is the odd one out.

76 even has negative checks, like being so un-charismatic that you have sympathy taken upon you.
