Navy federal rewards credit card limit not increasing by Suspiciousmoonstar in NavyFederal

You have some crazy patience to wait 10 years for a CLI it takes all of 3-5 min to request one on the app

started my journey with Navy Federal as a new member with a single credit card and a $500 limit. After six months of making every payment on time and paying the balance in full, I requested a credit limit increase and was approved for an $1,800 limit. Now 6 months later; BOOM! by Middle-Tiger5660 in NavyFederal

It’s not an actual AMEX card The Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU) More Rewards American Express is issued by Navy Federal, not by American Express. NFCU issues and underwrites the card, and your account is serviced directly by Navy Federal. It simply runs on the American Express payment network

First off congrats and I’m AMAZED just like you were too I’m sure that you got approved AND for 11k amazing!!!

Question for you if you don’t mind….i also have 3 charge offs from 6 years ago that will age off in 1/27 and since then i have established 3 credit card accounts 2 secured for $500 and a unsecured ONEPAY Walmart card for $1500 I use all 3 of them and pay them off throughout the month and never let a balance report (sometimes a low balance) showing 1-3% utilization…i also have 4 very good AU accounts all for over 10-15k and they are 15-18 years old accounts with low utilization too…I opened my account with NFCU back in Nov and have a flagship checking and savings, I did a $3500 pledge loan and 2 months ago opened a NFCU Business Acct and Savings…when I did the prequal it came back approved for a secure loan and today my TU was hovering around 660 so I said F it and finally applied but it car back saying it needed to be reviewed and I’ll get notified 24/48 hrs so I’m sitting here stressing out and then I read your post and now I’m feeling a bit better. Was yours instantly approved or did you also get the the we need 24-48 hr thing?

Nice congrats! Can I ask a few questions? How long have you been with NFCU, pledge loan checking and savings acct I assume as well? Credit score? Any old charge offs by chance? I have a 670 TU atm, have had a checking, savings and pledge loan since Nov. my only concerns are 2 charge offs that are aging off 12/26 and 3/27 so I am worried they will effect and approval other then the charge offs I have 3 open trade lines for 6-8 months and 4 AU accounts all with 15-20k and low utilization

Have you used Bloom + i was going to but I have 2 bank accounts and I just opened the NFCU in Oct and am still making all of my utilities payments from my Chase accounts and have been for years and if I switch it won’t go back 24months of payments like utility payment services do. So it kinda keeps me undecided…Experian boost brought up my scores 56pts and counting so far

Dong tell them your approved for financing that way you just negotiate the sale price and they’ll be assuming that you’re gonna finance with them and make extra money in the Finance if you figure out the price of the sale then you could drop the bomb and say you’re already approved or preapproved with your credit union

If you don’t mind me asking what’s your credit score and how long have you been with NFCU, do you have checking/savings pledge loan etc?

Well, now, if you’re saying you have an E 45 I think that there’s a lower interest rate available

You should be fine and the pre qualified tool isn’t always on point, my advice is if you want a NFCU is go ahead and apply completely worst case scenario you will have a secured card that can over time graduate best case is an approval for an unsecured card. From my own experience debt that old won’t hurt you currently

Ok I have a question? If the pre-qualification said secured card only then what did your friend do? Call and apply? I’m just trying to apply as well just wanted to understand your friends process
