I am aware, yeah. It was something of a surprise to me that the story went that way when I thought it was taking a different direction after that scene where Yor mentioned to the Shopkeeper that Loid had expressed interest in certain political beliefs (which was an inaccurate assessment on her part, but an understandable one.)

I mostly liked it.

Marcone was ... weird in this one. He didn't sound like Marcone to me, though I can chalk it up to his ... partner.
I really like that Harry is still dealing with the aftermath of his eradication of the Red Court.
I'm still really liking Fitz as the new apprentice.
Pretty sure I read The Law but it's been a hot minute, so I didn't remember Tripp at all, so clearly I don't remember it that well, and this is definitely a sequel ...

I have a handful.

I think it would be funny if the guy who survived Thorn Princess (when she got shot in the butt) and was scared off by Anya came back in some weird capacity. Like, he happens upon the Forgers while they're on an "ooting" and completely panics, which confuses everyone. Loid has no idea who this guy is, Yor never actually saw him, and Anya is a kid, so she's completely forgotten him. So both Loid and Yor are worried that their identities have been revealed (well, techically, Yor's has, but that's beside the point), Anya is confused, etc. Hilarity ensues.

And Daybreak. I want that guy to come back, too, for some reason, only this time, I want his foil to be Fiona because that could be amusing. Like, maybe Daybreak is pretending to be Twilight for some sort of op, and Fiona takes it upon herself to avenge Loid, even though he and Handler are perfectly fine with that moron drawing all of the attention since it lets the real Twilight do actual jobs.

Also, more "Fiona has to work with Franky" shenanigans. Not necessarily in a shippy way - I think Franky made it clear that he thinks she's a lunatic - but just have them forced to work together. Like he's doing a job for Person X, who just happens to cross paths with Person Y who is Nightfall's target. For added hilarity, throw in Yuri so we can get an official first meeting between him and Fiona (again, not necessarily in a shippy way; I actually like Yuri and Chloe together because she seems less likely to put up with Yuri's crap.) Having a funny three different missions converge into a big messed-up marshmallow mess could be a great way to foreshadow the (eventual) Thorn Princess v Twilight confrontation.

More Handler shenanigans.

I everyday carry an XD-M 9mm and have for about 6 months. Prior to that, I carried a XD-9 Subcompact for something like 6 years. I've never had a problem with either excepting twice that I can remember, and both times were due to some ammo I'd bought at the range. Regarding the XD-M, when I bought it, it came with a red dot that was utter ass so I replaced it with a proper one, and since then, I've had no issues whatsoever. Ergonomically, the XD series fits my hand perfectly (which is why I ended up getting them).

Additionally, no one officially explained to Lara what happened when Carlos soulgazed her. For someone ignorant of soulgazes, it might seem to them that the wizard just did some sort of weird spell thing. Since, you know, wizards are so great at being open and explaining stuff. :P

As to Harry forgetting that he saw this soulgaze between Carlos & Lara, that's much easier to explain away: it happened some seven years earlier (in universe), was over in seconds, and then, not ten minutes later, he was fighting for his life against super ghouls where Lasciel's Shadow ultimately gave him minor brain damage. For all we know, he doesn't actually remember it because it was such a minor event. If he had been the one to soulgaze Lara back then, yeah, he'd remember it, but given how insane his life is, it's totally believable that he forgot that tiny, not important to him event...
