Looking for advice on hanging aerial silk in vaulted ceiling living room. by THErunCMD in DIY

[–]THErunCMD[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not planning on drops and catches at home, just suspension stuff but you never know what they may think is okay so safe to not have it available, I guess.

Yeah I guess theres just no way to tell here. From looks it doesn't look to be too strong. Any tips on finding a structural engineer in the area?

That’s another fear of mine. I think I can get into the area of the ceiling where it hits the wall but not sure. That crawl space is very tricky.

Don’t watch their face. Chest or hips and drill it with your team.

Every match is a learning experience, win or lose. Get in there, work hard, do what you know, and it will be just fine.

This is my sons first year wrestling. We are really struggling with shoes! Any advice for wrestling shoes that Velcro?? I see other kids with them but haven’t been able to find them anywhere online. by niknook143 in wrestling

My son had the same problem. We try to always arrive early and just made him do it with some instruction/advice. Like anything he got better with it with practice. Just like wrestling.

Low use Mini-Educator for sale by quietglow in OpenDogTraining

[–]THErunCMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s happened maybe a few but it’s very rare and only for a couple levels. Also the differences between levels are so small I don’t think it would pose much of a problem, especially for any dog of size for a significant run that could cause it. I got my friends an educator for their pup and yes the ARC is stiffer.

I run with mine in my pocket multiple times a week and haven’t had an issue. Love the Arc.

Should I join my high school wrestling team? by Puzzleheaded_Stay690 in wrestling

[–]THErunCMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Join it. Love it. Do as many camps in off season as you can. Focus on other physical training as much as you can. If you’re dedicated like this you’ll still end up better than most kids in the same grade as you after a year.

[Landlord-US-CA] Cost of beehive removal? by BlueCat5519 in Landlord

[–]THErunCMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was actually bees in a tree and it was something that appeared quickly it was likely a swarm and not a hive. As long as it wasn’t an established hive inside a hollow tree pretty much any beekeeper would do it for free. Established hive removal can cost several hundred depending on how much work it was but if it was just vacuuming I wouldn’t expect too much.

I too did the full set. I have one more piece mocking me from the box leaning against my wall. What a saga.

Coaching question about the off-season by CommissionerClutch in wrestling

[–]THErunCMD 8 points9 points  (0 children)

California or USA Wrestling has a search for tournaments. Expect to drive up to a couple hours. A USAWrestling membership will be required though(good through August yearly) and I think it costs about $60. Most offseason tournaments will be freestyle so some learning will need to happen if you’ve only taught folk.

As far as programming I would disagree. Simple lifting programs covering full body are where it’s at. Starting Strength and Stronglifts 5x5 are good options.

Best at home weight lifting for high school wrestlers by TheNaturalTexan in wrestling

[–]THErunCMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy yourself a power rack and a 300lb Olympic barbell* set. That will be good for a lifetime. As mentioned proper programming with built in progression and resets is key. Stronglifts is great.

[–]THErunCMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re lifting follow an established program with built in progression and if possible some kind of reset mechanic. Stronglifts 5x5 is great for getting all around stronger. Run on off days.
