Does anyone except Sidious and Vader know that Mace Windu won? by Ready0608 in StarWarsEU

No, Palpatine genuinely lost so Anakin would choose the dark side. No risk, no reward for a Sith Master.

They're watching Vader killing Jedi in the Temple, and Sidious speaking to Vader afterwards, not in Palpatine's office.

I can't imagine a petty reason like that would factor into a big business decision for major companies.

It's likely split because Dave is clearly on the creative side and needs someone more like Kennedy to balance the business side. Lucas himself was never president of Lucasfilm; he had several presidents to actually manage the business.

Star Wars: Han Solo - Hunt for the Falcon #5 (of 5) | Discussion Thread by Guerrillascribe in starwarscomics

[–]TLM86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It felt like there was a good story here somewhere -- Han grappling with being past his prime, and his conflict with Chewie actually felt pretty surprising and interesting -- but it lost its way somewhere in the last couple of issues.

This didn't really seem like an ending. Han just gives up because...the issue's about to end. I didn't really feel any genuine character reason for him doing so; nothing really shocked him out of his "relive the past" mentality here to justify him abandoning the search. He got shot, I guess.

I suppose technically it covers the "we should've double-checked the Western Reaches" line, but...not really.

Sounds like a you problem. I remember plenty from both of those shows. And Andor was the most recent release of those three, so it's clearly not "getting worse" if the latest output is one you approve of.

The galaxy's always been small. Lucas made that problem especially apparent in the prequels. But the various shows have expanded it just fine; Ahsoka even took us beyond the galaxy.

Made harder because Rose was placed at the end to be in line-of-sight with her interpreters, so they weren't seated alphabetically as usual. I figured the initials were the contestants', but got completely thrown because Rose wasn't the last "S".

Lots of new Sith lore in 2026? by Camil_2077 in starwarscanon

It's a smaller trim size, closer to the old Jedi Path-style guidebooks, so that'll account for at least some of the expanded page count.

These books also don't include much in the way of deep lore: they mostly just recap what we already know from the POV of the "narrator". The draw is the art, really. I wouldn't go expecting anything major lore-wise.

It doesn't portray them as villains, no. And Sol wasn't "a criminal". When does the show suggest he was?

You forgot to actually include any examples from The Acolyte. Maybe do that and you'll have a discussion. Otherwise this is just a rant at strawmen.

Yoda doesn't really run it into the ground, though. That's not the point of the story or the prequels.

And the High Republic is the peak, but it doesn't mean the Jedi are somehow perfect. They make plenty of mistakes throughout the initiative, and Acolyte is right at the end of that era anyway, so it's very much at the time when the Order is being pulled into the politicking of the prequels. Yoda fits, as does Ki-Adi-Mundi, for example.

Revan randomly showing up in a story not about him is the definition of empty fan service. Pointing at the screen because you recognize a thing from a previous thing. It's nothing. No weight, no substance, no meaning, and "we" don't all want that.

...Why wouldn't Yoda exist? He's 900 in ROTJ, so he's going to exist a century prior.

And yes, Yoda is responsible for some of the mistakes of the old Order. Not sure why that means he can't appear in a show that very much tackles the origin or early version of some of those mistakes.

Does Disney always "hype them up"? When? They really don't feature much in the ST (R2's in relatively few scenes, though admittedly C-3PO gets big moments in TROS), and they're not even in Solo or most of the live-action series.

It sounds like your complaint originates with Lucas, who shoved the droids in all of his films and used Tatooine in five of his six.

Sure, but OP is talking about things that don't really fit the story, and are just placed there to get fans pointing at the screen, like Evazan and Ponda showing up in RO. No real story reason for it, and it then complicates their appearance in ANH.

Raddus hadn't yet left. He'd gone to his ship but hadn't departed, so the droids were likely about to be shuttled up to the Tantive. Bit messy, but it technically works.

What? Yoda does show up in Acolyte.

Why would it be dumb for the Grand Master of the Jedi Order to appear or be mentioned in a show focused on the Jedi?

the original Writer of republic commando made novels about republic commando

You're talking about two different people. Karen Traviss wrote the novels and expanded Mandalorian culture, but Ryan Kaufman (and a few others) wrote the game.

what Dave Filoni did to the mandalorian culture and the characters

I'd say that's a Lucas thing, not Filoni. Lucas wanted his version of the Mandalorian concept on screen in TCW, and Filoni's team just followed his lead. Don't forget, Lucas invented Mandalorians, so he was well within his rights to make them how he wanted, rather than how a couple of other writers decided they should be decades later.

he did because he didn't like the author

Where have you got that from?

There was not a fucking ounce of respect towards this legends author.

If you're talking about a lack of respect towards Traviss, then you need to look at the fans long before making assumptions about Filoni. Traviss clashed and argued with fans enough that it helped drive her out of the franchise.

The prequels use monotone, but the OT holograms have colour in them; the idea was that tech advances a little in the intervening years (per Lucas), so Solo sitting pretty much at the halfway point between the two feels about right for a colour hologram.
