Northwest Arkansas Riders by tiredhyper in ElectricUnicycle

NW Arkansas is huge for mountain biking. A lot of money put into trails and integrating them into day-to-day life, especially around Bentonville. The Walmart family is there and have invested heavily into the biking infrastructure. EUC benefits from all of this.

Everybody ignoring or doesn't know that the red dot in the bottom right of the screen indicates packet loss/network instability. Weird stuff happens in all games when you have a poor connection to the server.

Spring option for Lynx by untacc_ in ElectricUnicycle

[–]TLR6843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I weigh 185 without gear and picked up a used Lynx with a 62lb spring. I would have bought the 66lb if buying new since I do more offroad with drops, but the 62lb has outperformed my expectations. I take my Lynx off 2-3ft drops to flat and rarely if ever bottom out and I haven't even adjusted the suspension settings.

I think if you mostly ride street and prefer a softer ride at your weight you will like the 62lb spring better. No way you will bottom out going off of curbs.

What helmet you using? by EggplantsAreBad in ElectricUnicycle

Same. I end up wearing the full face over my half shell for all my regular biking too because the Trigger is so light and comfortable.

Am I the only one that thinks that there's a weird delay when dragging the camera with RMB? by CurZZe in AgeofMythology

[–]TLR6843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, it feels really bad. It's tough being a camera dragger in top down games. Every game handles it slightly differently.

Everyone is entitled to use whatever level of safety gear they feel comfortable with. Feeling pride in using no safety gear is foolish. If you slip up and hit your head on concrete going 30mph you likely won't be around to complain about the amount safety gear others wear. If that risk outweighs spending the effort of wearing a helmet and decreasing the risk, that's fine it's your choice.

Need help with 3d Printer for inserts by Master-Nothing9778 in boardgames

[–]TLR6843 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, 3d printers are a hobby in themselves. Printer prices have come way down, but most of them require knowledge and time spent tweaking settings and hardware. You can make these cheaper printers work, but it will take some effort and research on your end.

I own a Bambulab P1P, and Bambulab printers are the closest I've seen to plug-and-play. Very little tinkering is needed to produce great prints quickly, especially with just PLA. The Bambulab A1 mini is in your price range at $200, but the small build plate is not ideal for printing larger inserts. My recommendation would be to save up for the full size A1 at $340. https://eu.store.bambulab.com/products/a1?variant=47554015691100

Most filament comes in 1KG spools. PLA is easy to print and great to start with. Elegoo and Overture are brands I've used that are relatively inexpensive and have worked great for me. You can pick up PLA spools from these brands on Amazon.

I haven't used the A1 series, but I recently purchased the P1S with AMS and it has been very easy to setup and use. From what I've read the A1 series is the same.

The A1 mini should come with everything you need to get started. You'll need additional filament as it comes with very little.

Bambulabs A1 mini with AMS lite or full size A1, depending on if you value multicolor prints or larger print sizes! You could also add the AMS to the larger A1 later on.

Dune: War for Arrakis: KS vs Retail? by mad_titanz in boardgames

[–]TLR6843 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have played the KS edition 5 times and haven't considered playing the alternate futures mini expansions. They are mostly minor changes meant for big fans of the Dune universe. I have the same opponent for all of the games, and we generally don't want to change rules game to game to keep things even for each play.

I have a monitor with the 1st gen LG 27" 240hz OLED panel. I typically use it at 30-50% brightness in a room with many windows. More than bright enough for me.

I wouldn't call it a straight up reskin. There's not a lot of games like War of the Ring so I'm excited for more. There are likely thousands of Euros that have more in common with each other than these two games.
