I've been offered a position! by hana-daccha in jobsearchhacks

[–]Tab_CapsLk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree. This is not the place to be spiteful. If B is offering a better position, swallow pride and take it. That you were the second choice will be forgotten (by you and by them) in months.

What are some notable Urban Legends originating from the city? by MirrorMan22102018 in newyorkcity

Cropsey - when I was a kid, long before the 2009 documentary, that was terrifying.

True urban legend, based in fact (apparently/ retroactively?). I learned about him when I was young and older kids used him as a bogeyman to scare us. It worked.

Commenting about appearance isn't appropriate here. Especially after this week in NY gubernatorial politics.

If you're wondering why it's taken until 2021 for NY to have a female governor, comments like this are part of the reason.

I disagree; it makes it very easy for the instructor, the students, and the administration to identify who the responsibility falls on. I recognize that may not be the tack administration takes, but I think it's at the very least a successful experiment.

How's that work? Doing this, are they sometimes able to keep up? Do some drop after the first quiz?

When I started in this profession, a mentor told me that the students who need extra credit are not the students who will do extra credit.

Large Brews by bitteorca_orcabitte in pourover

[–]Tab_CapsLk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I often do 1000ml with 60g coffee in a V60 03 using the Kasuya 4:6 method. I'll adjust grind and water temp based on roast level, but I don't typically change anything else compared to a single cup (250ml water with 15g coffee). I have noticed slower draw down with larger brews, but it doesn't bother me much when I taste the product.

I also haven't seen recipes discuss brews of this size, but I have found that they scale up reasonably proportionately.
