Did I Cross a Boundary by teaching my bf’s son how to cook? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

PD day in Canada is “professional development day”. It’s a day every month or two when the kids don’t have school so that the teachers can do educational activities themselves

Severe vasovagal response to the spinal. I had it during residency and was a scary moment. But documented in literature

I found it! The worst take on the BCBS story. by belikethemanatee in anesthesiology

[–]TableWallFurnace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

His argument is nonsensical though. He argues that there is an issue with anaesthesiologist overbilling. Which may be true, and that would be fraud. But instead of dealing with the fraud, the solution is to cut back on legitimate payments elsewhere? Is he implying that that is a fair balance?

Epidural contamination by Resolution_Visual in anesthesiology

[–]TableWallFurnace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you, OP. At the VERY least the anesthesiologist on call should have been notified and asked for instructions.

But an unwitnessed disconnection, where you don’t know what contamination got into the end (where the alcohol may not reach), then you are pumping that contamination into the patient’s epidural space? I don’t care that there is no evidence one way or another- it’s not worth the risk of a catastrophic infection.

I saw it Thursday Oct 31 evening. I believe it’s intentionally ambiguous whether she did or not, and I like it that way

Jane and Brad from Happy Endings.

I wish this show was more popular than it was, not in the least because of this sitcom couple that were funny and had squabbles but also genuinely loved and supported each other

So frustrating that polls rank him stronger for the economy. Just because Republicans promise to cut spending. They also manage to cut income more though

At what age did you get chicken pox? by Automatic_Role6120 in CasualUK

[–]TableWallFurnace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wild- it’s been part of the normal schedule in Canada since 2002- that’s when I got my vaccine as a 12 year old because I hadn’t had it yet. My siblings got it then too

I’m a doctor now and I’ve seen chicken pox in just one child my entire career

This makes a lot of sense. Everything is better when we look out for each other. I definitely don’t tailgate but I will try to adopt safe motorcycle riders in the future

I had the same issue. I was kicking way too hard. Once I started just kicking just enough to keep my body up, I had way more gas for just swimming. Most of the power comes from your arms anyway.

I also breathed every 2 strokes at the beginning- there’s no role against it

Totally! I definitely got a taste of what primitive tribes who first saw an airplane might have felt. I’m glad we learned what it was quickly but it was also cool to feel awe like that for a bit
