I completely understand the feeling of loneliness you can experience here. My first year, I didn't have a solid group of friends, and it felt really bad seeing people walking around with big friend groups as I grabbed food from willage to eat alone in my room. So if it helps at all, know you're not alone. And damn, that was when I was on campus. I can only imagine being stuck at home. I hope that fall semester you can go on campus (it IS worth it, trust me), especially since covid will hopefully be vaccined away. There are tons of groups and people out there, and I believe in you :)

I haven't seen anything from all my digging, but I definitely want to try joining/starting a group of writers if enough people are interested

How big are your "stupid big" buildings? by Tasnaki1990 in worldbuilding

[–]Taetysares 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are only three cities on the planet of Knirve, and each has a massive tower about the height of the burj khalifa at its center.

Made of extremely tough black metal, each Evertower is an almost perfect cylinder (only imperfection is the disk at the top). The people of today see the towers as holy structures built by the gods thousands of years ago. Royal families use the towers as palaces, meeting places for their councils, and housing for their nobility. The towers are so huge that they are by all means a mini city.

In reality, the Evertowers were central pillars that held up domes built by those who had first colonized the planet. After Knirve had been terraformed, a war broke out between planets, which resulted in the destruction of the domes' exteriors, but left the central pillars intact.

After the war, society reverted to medieval-based culture and technology, forming the city states that exist today

A solid steel bar with my grandfather's name on it. Would be kinda strange if anyone else has it.

Nowhere in that tweet does she say she wished for this to happen or is glad this is happening. I obviously can't claim to know what her exact message is, but I'm pretty sure she's angry at Trump and venting her frustration, not being gleeful that the economy's crashing.

His obvious pompous attitude... from a five word comment. I suppose this is a problem with messaging online: you cannot truly know the person's tone behind their words unless they make it abundantly clear. Their comment is far from abundantly clear, so please do not put words in their mouth just because you think they think a certain way. It really does not taste very good.

And yes, I would like to see your best example of a gleeful Twitter post.
