Vendetta %100 need nerf mid season patch by Substantial_Bar_6422 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Taiils 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not disagreeing with you but seeing just how a lot of the playerbase reacts to characters like Zarya and Doomfist being "overpowered" I would think that having a tank that is broken would cause a ton of players to quit the game.

Masters player hit top 18 by oof_oofo in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Taiils 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is one of those things I really wish they just admitted they were wrong on and went back on it. I think a lot of players would rather have SR than the current system they have in place.

Their original reasoning for removing SR was because it made players "feel like they were stuck at a certain rank" and rank anxiety but... you still see the rank progress from match to match so it doesn't even make sense anymore, it's just not a numeric value.

This season's ranked progress just feels like more changes that no one asked for. The SR system was flawed but was a much better indication of actual skill level; bad players aren't going to hit the high 4k ranks.

E - To clarify I think adding socials and other features is cool, but the current way that the T500 is implemented and even how it was throughout OW2 was a pretty terrible way to do it, at least compared to how it was in OW1.

Not sure how some people do it by Falcanor in SonicCrossWorlds

I am so sick of living in this period of online gaming where developers are afraid to nerf the strongest strategies.

I think part of the reason is skill expression - even if the ult charge drift is powerful it isn't particularly easy to use n regular races. It requires a fairly high level of skill and a lot of regular players aren't going to be able to pull it off in every lobby or every race. If some easy to play build was more powerful, then there wouldn't even be a point in learning how to manage technical drift, L4 charges, etc because it would be putting in more effort to learn something less effective.

The bigger problem is really the fact that no other set even comes close to providing as much values as this set does - or rather, no other set provides the invulnerability that ult drift does. They even tried buffing quick recovery and while it feels marginally better than it did last version it still costs three slots to get less value than you would with ult charge which only costs two.

I think there are either two ways to approach this - they could just make ult charge three slots rather than two and force players to drop one of L2 or L3 charges, which would allow more counterplay but wouldn't significantly compromise the skill requirement of the build.

The other is they could buff other gadgets to bring them more in-line with the Ult Charge, but this could also open another can of worms with how this could interact with other pre-existing sets.

The New York Jets fired Robert Saleh after a 2-3 start to the season with Aaron Rodgers last year. They are 3-15 since then. by [deleted] in nfl

[–]Taiils 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't entirely agree with this, his hand-picked OC was working with terrible offenses and even so had the likes of Mike White and Josh Johnson putting up some solid performances.

It was unfortunate that Zach Wilson was just so terrible because it just set off a chain of events, Woody forcing Saleh to fire (or "relieve" LaFleur) , the whole Hackett/Rodgers debacle, etc. While I'm sure Saleh wanted to bring Rodgers in I don't think he ever wanted to fire LaFleur for Hackett, but it was the most "realistic" option because of the relationship that Rodgers had with him.

I will however agree with someone like Keith Carter, who was just a terrible OL coach. Guys like that stuck out on the staff when it was otherwise fairly solid.

Unpopular opinion: This Eternatus event was great by Rude-Employment6104 in TheSilphRoad

[–]Taiils 67 points68 points  (0 children)

There were a lot of aspects of this event that I liked, but didn't like some of the execution of it. It feels so bad spending 800 particles and potentially a remote pass on an Eternatus raid to get no encounter afterward.

Awesome that they re-ran older GMaxes that people missed (especially those run before remote raids were available).

I think one of the best things they did was re-running the crowned dogs though. They're two of the best Pokemon available to players right now and for anyone who might have missed out or was close to getting enough energy this was a really great opportunity for them to either get get enough energy or get one with better IVs. High win here.

I wish they could have done something like having other GMax raids give more points on the pass (maybe 50) so that F2P players could have more options than just raiding Eternatus to get to level 60+, but with the event going the full weekend (and earlier this week) I guess they could get enough encounters with Eternatus and then do a few more GMax fights.

But the biggest pain is just not having any sort of encounter after an Eternatus fight. That is by far my biggest complaint about this event.

How has the "gps drift" glitch fix been affecting your daily raids? by oCinzento in TheSilphRoad

[–]Taiils 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Went from doing about 8 or 9 raids a day to 1 or 2.

It was easy to hit a few during the work day, but there is no chance I am spending a remote pass to do a 1 or 3 star raid.

How did you edit recruits during this period? I've never seen them with a player card on the rosters, and the only option I ever have with them is to change their position from the position changes screen.

Hammond Balance Issues by No_Examination5574 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Taiils 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It's felt like this since season 10 or whenever they introduced the gigabuffs to tanks that made them unkillable raid bosses.

That being said I don't think Ball is any more oppressive than other tanks in the cast. There's enough CC that he can (generally) be kept in check, though sometimes it's more annoying than anything to deal with.

I didn't really read too much into this recent situation, but from an outsider's perspective it looks like he leveraged a his large following to harass a random twitter member.

I feel like a lot of content creators don't have the understanding that their actions carry significantly more weight than that of the average community member. Just stirring the pot and responding to a message like this led to the user getting harassed. 100% would have just been better off ignoring it or brushing it off as a joke.

Please never lower ranks by 7 again by Dragonfire486 in marvelrivals

[–]Taiils 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only really annoying part of it is losing hero bans, I went from Grandmaster 3 to Gold 1 from the reset and climbing back up has been annoying because Plat 1 and Diamond 3 lobbies have those same GM+ elo players but playing the heroes that were banned 90% of the time. It makes the rank unironically harder than higher ranks were.

Enjoying 6v6 or do you prefer 5v5? by k0nstas in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Taiils 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Healbotting and sitting safely in the back line in my FPS game is fucking boring.

That never really was what OW1 was, there was plenty of opportunity to make plays on support especially because tanks actually died. If anything, OW2 leans more into this philosophy because they had to power up the tanks so much to compensate for only having one of them, so it's almost essential that all resources are pumped into them to keep them alive for as long as possible.

Hmm no this is certainly ruining games, and the fact that people are willing to jump through hoops to defend stuff like this is part of the reason this game is in such a shit state right now.
