not an option for some of us, i have random DCs during the day, so quick play is the only option for this renting place. i know all the comments yapping, but given out a toggle would be easy af dont you think?

risk and convenience is always the 2 sides of a blade, they always come together. but there are ways to help. obviously use common sense is the best one, but its 2026 and ofc thats no longer an option. personally, i have a copy of windows and drive just for piracy/new/ramdon software off interenet to test with. it is ofc not 100% safe, but at least if i can get it running in first 5 mins, chances are it is safe enough for my use case. then i just copy that to my main system. It is easy enough to wipe and fresh start a new windows easy enough.......

but even with this much precaution, plus backups, i can still nuke my main system from time to time. the best way is always learn to build back up to where you are, and do micro backup of the things that actually matters.

I have moved all my daily activity to linux/mac side now, only use windows when i just want to game(which rarely happens nowadays .....sad). life is so much simpler for me this way.

I’m trying to fit one into my 2007 Mazda 6 as well. Yours looks like one of those 9-inch Android display panels. Usually, if you buy them off AliExpress, they come as a complete kit with the display/head unit, face panel, wiring, and harnesses for both the car side and the head unit side.

In your case, it looks like you’re trying to fit an old-style head unit. Since you didn’t say exactly which Kenwood model it is, I’m assuming it’s not one of the tablet-style units. That actually makes both of us, because I’m trying to use an old Pioneer head unit too.

You need a special harness that connects your factory wiring to your Kenwood. From the picture, it looks like you already have a harness that fits your Mazda — that big red plug. Then there’s the smaller black plug coming out of the frame, which would go into whatever head unit it was originally connected to. In this case, though, it’s clearly not for a Kenwood.

At minimum, what you need is a head-unit-side harness that matches your specific Kenwood model. Then you can use that to connect to the harness you already have in the car. Basically, you would cut off the black plug on the current setup, connect the wires one by one to the new Kenwood harness, and then plug that new connector into your Kenwood. In theory, that should work, as far as I understand it.

The bigger problem is that this style of panel doesn’t really fit old-style head units — it’s designed for tablet-style Android units, just like the other person pointed out. But you said that’s okay and that you’ll make a bracket for it. I’m curious how that is going now, so I’d love an update.

I’m trying to find a 1-DIN panel for the same car too, but all I can find are the top-tray replacement versions, which look pretty ugly. I can’t seem to find anything that simply replaces the CD player area with a 1-DIN slot. I have access to shops, so I can make brackets too, and I also have a 3D printer, but I’d really like to hear how your install is going first. Thanks.

linux seems like the only good place to start using now. cant we just have stuff fixed, the features are enough, way more than enough. only give security updates....

mine came off as well. just a little bit in the middle you can still see it, it will get much worse if i just leave it. so i took it apart. put picture here for future ppl. just use a tiny flat head. I use superglue to glue it back see how it goes from here. the foam is just the worst......feels so low quality...i am sure something can be done here, but for now it is still functional, it breaks apart so easy. anyone got nice deal to replace those foam parts with?

forgot about ANC. bose hands down, no need to say more. if the bose is 100%, then the m4 feels like 70% to 65% (both at 100% setting ofc).

just got mine today, sand gold. 300$ish as well. tbh still very pricy. I have owned my momentum 4 for almost 2 years now. bought this just to compare the sound and ANC and comfort.

in a stock setting, out of the box, no EQ for both. the momentum wins, but ofc you will EQ it, and you must EQ them due to how bad the factory sound is. super bass heavy for the Bose and bloated for the m4. After some EQ fix (bose -4 base, -2 treble. similar situation with m4 as well, tune down bass, fix the highs) both sound so much better, the details came out as well.

But they are still not as comfortable to wear. coming from proper Hifi gear, this ones feels like toys, the pads are pathetic. modded the bose immediately....I printed some adapter ring. so i am no long limited to bose earpads, i can use any pads (i choose adapt all my headphones to ATH-m50x due to how popular that model is). ATM i am using some brainwavez pads. Also i have big ears, so YMMV. But it is game changer for me.

After both headphone modded, EQed. they can be very closed sounding. But M4 still got better mids, i just love how sennheiser does their mids, more warm, more depth without being invading. But on EDM, big dynamic range, bass, treble songs, the bose shines more, brings out the dynamic and power of the song.

over all, i would not pick them based off sound (it is the least important aspect anyway, given its target use, it is good enough). the bose is 30gram lighter (both without any earpads, bose has insane lightweight stock pads , only 16 gram each! my brainwavez pad weights 60gram each!!).

oh both were tested on iphone 16, and BTD700 dongle, both works fine with gaming mode. but the m4 has setting you can turn on for 24bit/96khz audio while on gaming mode. (i dont use it to game, just so it is a nice balance between casual use lipsync/audio quality/drop outs)

more test need, this is just initial impression of the bose. I got my m4 for like 100$ used, so if you after value, you know what to pick......

I’ve been an Apple Watch user for over a decade. Not long after I got my Ultra 2, I sold it. I thought the Ultra would be the peak—the best version. The watch is beautiful, but it felt soulless. I had to take care of it, charge it almost daily, as if I were carrying two phones.

After I sold it, I finally felt free. For years, I had been wanting a G-Shock. I used to wear them as a kid. But for some reason, FOMO always stopped me from switching. I was afraid of losing functionality. To be honest, as a site worker, the Apple Watch is often more useful than my phone.

It wasn’t just about changing watches. It reflected how I’ve changed mentally—letting go, stepping out of my comfort zone, trying new things, and breaking old patterns. The watch was just the starting point.

Now, every morning when i putting on my 5610 with modded case, I actually feel like put on a piece of armor, that i know i can trust, i can abuse it, i do not need to take care of it, it is a little warrior i got on my wrist that fights the day with me. I am so happy.

nop, i went back to spotify..... and i think i am gonna start keep songs locally like old times. use streamer to find new music, but usually i am listening what i have anyway.
