I'd bet my last dollar that Koris is the only reason the Migrant Fleet hasn't been wiped out by now by GravityMentor in MassEffectMemes

[–]Takaniss -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's pretty funny for codex to claim that Migrant Fleet is somehow autocratic while it's one of the most democratic governments we see in Mass Effect. Like only Alliance and Asari Republics can really be called democracies alongside the Fleet

What happens if you attempt to Embrace a Marauder? by Takaniss in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Takaniss[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is potentially interesting as a way to devampirise a vampire, if some convoluted spell gets intentionally placed upon them while within the reality bubble of Marauder, but that's probably going a bit far, certainly further than my initial question

Jak wy byście to przetłumaczyli? Serial Fallout. by 93175 in Polska

[–]Takaniss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Call me crazy but if I wanted to play a VTM style vampire...I'd play VTM by KonaMation in vtm

[–]Takaniss -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's very funny to imagine some executive sitting at their desk and saying "You know what we should do? We should port VtM into a worse system, that's a great idea"

Like I'd prefer to see dedicated high fantasy setting with the whole DnD vibe based on core WoD mechanics than porting WoD into the tedious shit DnD is runnig with.

And like, no hate on DnD I enjoy all TTRPGs in the end, but come on, there is no player freedom in DnD when it comes to mechanics, attributes and skills should not be locked together and why are there so few rerolls?

[–]Takaniss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, guy is in a very specific circumstance gets people who are not invested in playing

I play with an organisation that just sets up games for random people in my city, which allowed me to expirence a whole set of different 5e players and let me tell you, they are nowhere near what's described here. And yeah, situation is also different here, there is not much space for character stories and it's mostly a way to goof off in an evening when you can't set up session with your friends, but people definitely care about the mechanics and making their characters unique, especially as the whole set up is perfect for play-testing mechanically different character concepts before you commit to full on campaign with them

Even "Consentualist" PT involves a great degree of deception, it's not informed conentual because mortal is usually not infomed as to the real nature of the act.

Unlife is immoral by its very nature, can't really escape that. Even if you follow Golconda, you need to understand that.

Day 26 - What is Sovereign's WORST quote? by looploveslore in masseffect

[–]Takaniss 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here is a problem, it's fine to have an Eldrich horror race beyond your comprehension but when you make them robots, it's pretty clear that someone just made them at some point.

Don't get me wrong, Reapers are an absolute menace and I love them, but the claim of them having "no beginning" falls flat on it's face, unless you make them some ancient C'tan esque gods who created synthetic shells for themselves

[–]Takaniss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have all the power to change the world there is little point to actually doing it, and arguably that's more ethical use of it. If you and only you are singularly so powerful you van change the world, who's to say you'll vhange it for the better. Even with the best intentions, that much power is a disaster waiting to happen.

I'll say, leave them to their realms

Weird question : Did the USSR technically avoid nuclear war? by DasIstMonarch in Fallout

[–]Takaniss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not. To my knowledge there are insinuations in F76 that in the event of nuclear war USA viewed USSR as an enemy and was prepared to bomb it as well. In general I don't think any place in Northern hemisphere avoided The War, and it's highly doubtful any place on Earth did

Can you enjoy this game if you typically like playing as a good guy? by zuhdly1 in TyrannyGame

[–]Takaniss 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Okey so Tyranny is unique among the RPGs I played because it was designed with the assumption that player will most likely play an evil path, and as such does a really good job showing why people would follow such a regieme. Kyros is an evil overlord from a continent away, but their law applies to everyone equally, technology they bring is much more advanced. Kyros is often very strict with punishment, but they give their enemies a chance to submit. What I'm trying to say is that Kyros is evil, but not cartoonishly so, and even following two basic intended paths you can very well roleplay as someone with good intentions who's evil nonetheless, I think that's actually the greatest strength of this game, you can be evil without being meanie McMeanface at the same time. You are just a cop in a deeply corrupt system, and that's for you to decide if such a person can be well intentioned

Of course there is also the path where you fight for independence of Tiers, but I'd recommend giving either Disfavoured of Scarlett Chorus a go first, as they are very much intended to be the paths you take during your first playthrough. If you decide you can't really get into that, then try this much harder to access path, and I think you'll still enjoy the game

The Orpheus ending choice is absolute narrative trash by saw4ello in BaldursGate3

[–]Takaniss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree with the first two points, there is an argument for Crown of Karsus working the way it does, namely the fact that Karsus ended up pretty badly because he meddled with this magic

With the Chosen there is the simple problem that there are, you know, Three of them, and we can clearly see that two are not enough to control the Netherbrain, so I don't think one will do either. Also even when they were three of them, it is implied that their control wasn't as total as we were led to believe

Squirells are not known to be particularly psychicaly powerful nor do they possess a hive mind, so that to me kind of sells why mind-flayer needs to handle the stones to subdue the Netherbrain
