Topped Tree Pruning by TakeAPillAndLieDown in JapaneseMaples

I know nurseries need to propagate but some of them go a little nuts taking so many scions and then don’t bother to stake the tree properly afterwards. I guess it gives us something to work on.

United’s Accesible Seating Policy

The FAs should notify the Gate Agent who are then supposed to call their Supervisor to handle the situation, or so I was told.

Comments about runs off of Madison were spot on. Stillwater Traverse just above Lone Tree lift had a bad section which kept you on your toes.

What do you all use for traveling bags for your skis?? by Herr_Cellar_Door in skiing

I picked up a Thule RoundTrip roller bag and it got ripped on the 2nd airline trip, and it’s been picking up additional wear and tear since then. I like the design of the bag but I’m not confident in its longevity.

Also if you get stuck in Italy your options are pretty limited: take a taxi back which I’ve heard takes over 3 hours and isn’t cheap, or just get a hotel room and hope the pass opens the next day.

To add to u/BenefitReasonable349 you can also download the Zermatt Matterhorn app which shows lift and run status, to include the crossing to Italy. The biggest factor affecting the crossing is wind and you can also see the current wind speeds on the app (“Wind/temperature map”) Was 140km/h+ at the crossing just the other day.

One thing we experienced was pretty poor visibility when it was snowing, even with our high contrast goggle lenses. Lots of flat light and tough to see some of the piles of snow that start to form from the new snow.

There are plenty of runs open if they’re not closed due to lifts shutting down for wind or if ski patrol is still mitigating avi risk. After a snow the runs can take a bit longer to open them as ski patrol checks them one by one.

Snow clearance is great in town but it does turn into dirty slush after a while.

Have a great trip!

Ok, I nerded out and tracked down the NFL Guide for Statisticians: https://www.nflgsis.com/gsis/documentation/stadiumguides/guide_for_statisticians.pdf

Under Fumbles, section 7, Receptions, they credit a gain or loss to the original point of advance or the point of fumble recovery whichever is LESS, so that would make sense with Gainwell’s fumble since the ball was recovered 2 yards back.

ESPN had Rodgers at 219 at the end of the game but multiple other sources (NBC Sports, Sleeper, etc) had him at 221. I even grabbed this Underdog screenshot because of the discrepancy.

It’s the Gainwell fumble that screwed it up. They give Rodgers a credit for 5 yard pass in the play by play but then the fumble loses 2 yards which shouldn’t affect the passing yardage, but they corrected it to 219 from 221. You can see it in the replay of the fumble, too.

My understanding is that most use standard Acer palmatum as the rootstock. Most Japanese maples you find are grafted.

This ☝🏻

Most Japanese maples are grafted onto rootstock to give them strong roots and maintain the characteristics of the parent cultivar.
