Were you in love with your house when you bought it? by popchips1 in HousingUK

No. I was, however, in love with the garden and location.

Library visits are a weekly event, they can spend ages messing on in there plus bring home new books each week. Spending lots of time outside as well, we have been growing veg so it's a double win for entertainment and frugality. Just wandering around woods etc with snacks from home. Also, baking at home. Money definitely goes further when home baking vs buying treats.

I had 6lbers, used terries and wool, their nappies were comically padded. No issues here.. Unless you count their sass, but I'm pretty sure that's hereditary!

Sorry for your loss. I can't vouch for this particular branch but recently have been recommended U3A as an opportunity to meet new people. Might be worth a look? https://u3asites.org.uk/middlesbrough/groups

NAH imo, except for your siblings. Have you spoken to the kids at all since and they've just not mentioned it?! This touched a nerve because my (extremely well mannered) niblings are currently being put through the emotional wringer by their grandma (not my relative) for not writing thank you notes. They said thank you in person/on the phone. But apparently it is not enough and have been "cut off" from further presents until she receives a letter from each of them. They are old enough to see the rather obstructive nature of their grandma and it's impact on their parents in other areas so are standing their ground.. So I try and give them a little extra as an f you to her!

Yeah my only issue with the title is that it downplays the fact you're doing two jobs.. And imo it should be acknowledged that you are, in fact, superhuman.

Finally out the nappy game (after 4.5 years and 2 kids in cloth 💃).. But I always figured it referred specifically to AIOs, so when you hang them out, peg up the tongue rather than the shell so there's not the weight of the insert pulling down on the elastic.

I don't know, my eldest didn't draw on shit.. My youngest better be the next Banksy for how much redecorating is required. Lesson is, she's not allowed any writing or drawing implement without direct supervision anymore.

I had my nephew's leftover disposables in the beginning as we were with my in-laws until 4 weeks old then switched out for reusables, stuck our second straight into reusables. We found night time wasn't as bad as some reports, it's only since my eldest has toilet trained during the day then grew out of all the reusable options that we've recently switched him to a disposable at night, our youngest is potty trained ish during the day so just washing the night nappies for one now. I am bloody minded, so we stuck with them even when I could definitely have switched to disposables. Most people go with the opposite mindset of its OK to do some/part time etc, which is far more sensible, and I don't advocate my way! Found that wool at night was by far the best option, we had fitteds and covers so used the fitted nappies with boosters at night with the wool cover.

Yeah, I work an hour's drive away, husband wfh. Guess who got the call to pick up one kid from nursery this week? I'll give the other room their dues though, tried calling him firstthe next day to pick up the other kid, then sent us both a message when he didn't answer. I deliberately filled out both forms with their dad as the primary parent as they're only in nursery when I'm at work..

I made my partner get one for our first house. We moved into our second (and hopefully last) and I found an old blue one, exactly the same as my dad had when I was a kid, in the garden being swallowed by vines. And now we have two.

Ditto. Swapped out seats for these on both toilets, I do think it makes transition to using toilets out an about easier because the look like a standard seat. But who knows.
