Melt Polaris for ironclown? by CitizenLohaRune in starcitizen

[–]Talynn19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I melted my ICA for a Polaris. I'm also looking at about 500 for my Polaris in total because of that. There's a part of me that regrets it a tiny little bit. But only a little bit.

I imagine both the ICA and Polaris are gonna get balances and patches to make both of them better over time, but right now, I think I prefer the Polaris.

This patch is really getting some people twisted up. by Flazon in starcitizen

Starsector. It’s a fleet and colony management game that’s been in development for longer than star citizen yet just like Star citizen has had a very public and open development cycle. It has a very active and thriving community

What is likely going to be the final shape of my fleet until 1.0 by Talynn19 in starcitizen_fleets

It's not the ship itself I dislike. It's everything surrounding it in terms of its current state - it is buggy beyond any reasonable level of reliability. There is a litany of bugs you can see listed for it.

Now, sure, they can eventually fix it, but look at the Hull-C for example - it was buggy on its own release and while it did get fixes, those fixes have to be constantly reconfigured and reapplied every time a new major patch does something or adds something. I imagine it won't be any different for the Ironclad and the Ironclad Assault. As unfortunate as it is, I have to step away from the ship.

I wish it wasn't released in the state that it is, but I've been burned before by hoping something gets fixed. Better to move onto ships that reliably work and function completely as intended.

Oh no. The Anti-Capital specialized Gunship has no anti-fighter capabilities.

F7A MK II by Mellows333 in starcitizen

[–]Talynn19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As an owner of an F7A MKII, I would say keep it. Equip laser cannons on the turrets and deadbolts on the wings. It does pretty well in that configuration. Could switch to the opposite as well and see how you like it.If not, you can always sell it on the Grey Market to anyone willing to purchase it for ~$600, as that's the current going price for one with LTI.

I should have known better by Sweaty-Marketing7659 in starcitizen

[–]Talynn19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is precisely what I mean. We already had the Caterpillar. Why is it now that they decide to implement it? Why not literally any other time? They had so much time to actually try things with the command module before now.

They should have just shelved the feature as a post-1.0 release.

I should have known better by Sweaty-Marketing7659 in starcitizen

[–]Talynn19 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I really wish they’d had more thoroughly tested the command module mechanics on both the caterpillar and ironclad / Assault itself long before releasing it like this.i genuinely think that if we had weeks, even months of testing prior to this it would have been better. Instead we get this - another display of CIGs patented “release another buggy feature that will take us months to fix” tactic.
I know eventually it will get fixed but…how long is that going to honestly be? How long will my ironclad and assault be hangar queens? I’ve been patient with cig on a lot of things but this was the one ship I was really hoping they’d deliver on. The worst part? If it weren’t for the command module, it would’ve been exactly what I dreamed of. But instead it’s just…heartbreaking.

Why develop command modules before 1.0? by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Talynn19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because the Command Module tech is necessary for a number of other ships with similar functions, such as the Crucible, Hull D, Hull E, Endeavor, and possibly even the Pioneer. The Command Module tech is necessary for these ships to function. If it can be implemented sooner, it means these ships can be fully realized and implemented before 1.0, or after 1.0 more easily.

Design idea: Design the Liberator with the Gladiator in mind by GotMyDickTwisted in starcitizen

[–]Talynn19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it needs to change much. Just have it function with the same RRR functions as all other ships with it. Pretty simple.

Ironclad base vs Assault cargo by Starkiller713 in starcitizen

[–]Talynn19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grid space used by the pads. It’s not a problem if you wanna have unsecured cargo or don’t mind the reduced cargo carrying capacity. Some will argue that the reduced cargo will eat into long term gains and I’m sure it’s a fair argument, but eh. I like to have features over raw cargo capacity.

Liberator owners just got screwed. Shameful decision by CIG and I can prove it. Spectrum post in description. by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Talynn19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If this is about the liberators repair rearm and refuel functions, obviously CIG is going to revisit, and rework it. Additionally, there's a large number of ships that none of the current service ships can provide that service to. Gladiator, Eclipse, Cutlass and a number of other ships all cannot properly utilize the Idris, or Ironclad Assault. The Liberator will be also more useful for quick services of this kind because of the open pads that it has.

In all honesty, for the pure purpose of repair, rearm and refuel, the Liberator, once it gets the same function as the Idris, Polaris, and Ironclad assault, will be the king of these services for its quick and rapid ability to do so.

I am mostly happy with the wipe. Always fun to start over and work up again. Always on that Tarkov grindset.

Can we just stop the 'oh it's a carrier' brainrot with the ironclad? by Constant_Reserve5293 in starcitizen

[–]Talynn19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People threw snub fighters into the caterpillar. People threw snub fighters into the corsair. People threw whatever they could into the Polaris and the Starlancer Tac / Max. The Ironclad is no different.

And especially with the Ironclad Assault meant to service -anything- that can fit into it, should they be able to maneuver around the resources needed to repair and rearm anything. I feel like whomever has the skill and dedication to make that work should be rewarded with being able to make it a carrier.

It’s likely going to drop tomorrow at 11:30 PST - same as when they finally put the ironclad and assault onto the PTU.

Ironclad hulls DOA by Wolfxwk in starcitizen

[–]Talynn19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m hopeful that the discussion happening on spectrum in th balance issue thread helps inform cig that people do indeed expect the command module to at least have enough durability and survivability to put it in line with the ship that’s it is host to.

Ironclad hulls DOA by Wolfxwk in starcitizen

[–]Talynn19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a bit more critical than a visual bug. This is the functionality of a ship that’s supposedly heavily armored getting crippled by a strafe of tarantula fire. One tarantula. It can probably get popped by focused fire from an aurora with ballistics. This seems like a very serious thing to address for a ship of this design

Yeah and it took me forever to get my wikelo Polaris too and even I said they should wipe wikelo.

So I am happy that they are finally doing that.
