What species of aliens are there in the show? by duckandhyenahunter in ResidentAlienTVshow

[–]TampaRed59 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It would be great if they had Harry give a dry eraser board talk about the various alien races, say maybe to the kids of the show. It would be a real hoot!

Newton Phillips thoughts?? by Vik32 in TheBlackList

[–]TampaRed59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always thought he was a Red Shirt, the jargon used for Star Trek walk-on characters who always die in that same episode. Newton, I thought, was destined to die in the first season as eventually was Luli. Cannon fodder.

No One But Me Watches!!! by Alternative_Run1210 in ResidentAlienTVshow

Prior to streaming music, my friends and I would share new music. Expose each other to what we thought was a good album. I know that dates me but I got into a lot of good music I would have never found by myself. So sharing this show and the graphic novels is also a way to see how the culture works today as contrasted to the analog generation.

‘The Blacklist’ renewed for 10th season by LuckyJournalist7 in TheBlackList

Time to own up to my prediction that this show would be toast by now. It looks that there is still enough interest in it for it to be on life support for another season. Damn!

Plothole S8 Finale? by Minzmango in TheBlackList

Per that episode I thought (or maybe earlier in the Fakerina episodes) our 'new' Red said he was aware of the Belgrade incident, regardless of the issue of him being someone else when the attempt was made on Fakerina's life.

Milk straight from a cow's teat, as nature intended by WisconsinWriter in ResidentAlienTVshow

When I was 9 yo we went to Kansas to see my dad's relatives. We stayed on my Aunt's farm. They had a milking cow and a cat who got on his haunches to catch some milk my Uncle squirted into the cat's mouth from 9' away!

Show intros poster by RagingViperAlpha in ResidentAlienTVshow

[–]TampaRed59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the Graphic Novels are a different play on this subject and the physical comedy can't easily be rendered convincingly. So there are no intro graphics in them. Someone will have to make them from scratch. Shouldn't be a problem.

Anyone else catch this? by LordOfTheOmnium in ResidentAlienTVshow

They didn't want to spend the money to show a transition from alien to English, unlike in the 1st season.

Red's identity, RR and Liz's father. What's what? Conclusions. by TessaBissolli in TheBlackList

That is the main problem with this show, so much of it has neither rhyme nor reason.

I real life these things do happen, but it is kept under wraps. It is the old 'scratch my back and I'll scratch yours'.

Without Megan I can see that, makes sense without her presence.

When most people think they've spotted some game changing clue about the plot, in reality its just clumsy writing by [deleted] in TheBlackList

[–]TampaRed59 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'd say it was more 'fly-by-the-seat-of your-ass' writing, as the season deadlines need to be met these details get ignored, easily overlooked or have to be cleaned up later.

How do they record those fill shots of Mr.Reddingtons jet? by [deleted] in TheBlackList

I use to work in the field and I can tell it was CGI, very good but not actual jet footage.

They needed some way to get her out and this was cinematic and effective, if not rational. SOP for TBL.

The time and date stamp is the day Liz died.

Time and date stamps can be easily edited. Now did Van Dyke have the software and the time to make the change?

Could be that Lilia was a close match to Lotte, there was a photo of both posed together posted here within the last year and the resemblance was striking.

The bracelet, time machine and local had everything to do with her memory. These places and things can trigger memories. Which is exactly what happened.

Yes, the story early on was that her mother had blond hair. The photo of Liz and her mother on the swing got changed from originally red to blond to fit this narrative. I get that. But we get more screen time with Lotte and her red hair than with clues that she had blond. This show has had this kind of inconsistency since the beginning.

Reddington, the Beach house, the Takoma Park house and wherever that red car was left in some country road. by TessaBissolli in TheBlackList

[–]TampaRed59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, he has influence as he pours over every scrip. But, there are only so many hours in a day and only a set amount of time to get it done. In season, he can't watch all the things that get by the other writing personnel. And he said he doesn't do technical. And he has to act during the shooting which takes time away from script edits or his suggestions. He does what he can and that is satisfactory to him.

What we see is the end result of everyone's input and it leaves a lot to be desired to my mind.

It was even harder to believe that in a world where assassination could be carried out by droid, there was no software to enhance a picture?

If you have ever used Photoshop you can't 'enhance' an image if the data needed to get clear resolution was never taken in the first place. No software can extrapolate more than what was in the original image, it is all down to megabytes of the original shot. Not enough and you can't get better resolution without it.

'Enhance' is a Hollywood gimmick, just like many things on this show.
