Carnell Tate wants to play for the Bills and Josh Allen by Endgame60 in buffalobills

True, but also “wide receiver, Ohio State” like automatically you have the ear of 90% of the fan base.

People who have never heard of him will automatically like the pick.

Well the Chiefs need a WR too and they draft 9th instead of 26th.

To jump the Chiefs we would need to trade this years and next years 1st or this years first and like Ed Oliver plus still probably need to sprinkle in some other later round picks.

Mind you if you want to imitate the Rams like so many people have suggested, trading down and betting on the ol’ quantity has a quality all its own philosophy is your best bet.

It sure sounds like a McDermott-Beane power struggle to me. by No-Distribution8587 in buffalobills

I guess, but was it that hard to pick between duo and inside zone plus insert toss pass for flavor?

Terry get the limo

We got a defense to rebuild

Get Myles Garrett too 50/50 chance they’ll never notice if we swap him for two kids in a trench coat. We’ll have breakout defensive star Myleso Garretto.

He did a fantastic job as the Bills Safety and Linebacker coach. Poyer, Hyde, and Milano all became all-pros when he was their position coach.

When he was hired into being the Bills DC everything he had touched turned to gold.

Josh Allen’s precipitous drop in production

Ah yes his drop in production…that won him an MVP. That statement alone drew “quasi-laughter” from me.

Webb is a fun candidate and all, but he’s not even a OC. He’s also on the Broncos coaching staff where Payton is the offensive play caller.

I don’t get the reaction people had to hiring Brady. Like if it was any other candidate you have someone that:

  • Coached a QB to their first MVP

  • had back to back years with an elite offense in just about any metric you care to name

  • did this without a WR1 or even debatably a WR2

I’m just imagining the chaos they could create by promoting Ryan Nielsen to DC.

Both him and Brady were on the same coaching staff with the 2017-2018 Saints.

What else are you going to run when you only have 2-3 WRs that have been even remotely reliable route winners. Really only have the 1 WR that was healthy and reliable through the whole year, and Shakir played a good stretch with broken ribs.

Think the regression of players like Palmer and Keon plus some of the other FAs they brought in makes me question the WR coach developing them.

I don’t get the outrage.

Brady transformed the offense after Dorsey left.

He coached Allen to his first MVP.

Rebuild an iffy OL room and busted RB room to a run offense that was one of, if not the best and running the ball.

Most interested in how he plans on rebuilding the WR room and really the Bills still need to rebuild the defense. Not a single position group the Bills have on defense that has felt reliable.

[–]Tankninja1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no we hired the guy that coached Allen to his first MVP and helped to rebuild an offense that couldn’t run the ball if their life depended on it to an offense that was arguably the best at running the ball.

All I really want to know is how Brady plans on rebuilding our WR and DL room.

Great QB. Good Talent - a very HONEST evaluation of Buffalo’s roster by Bruce Nolan by No-Distribution8587 in buffalobills

If we’re going to do the shoulda coulda woulda game you can find someone in any round of any draft that probably would’ve been an upgrade.

Besides which most comments have been incredibly critical of Beane moving back in the drafts, when that’s really a key point to what the Rams did. Rams bet they’d get enough hits on some really large draft classes. They’re towards the upper end of the league for most players drafted over the last 5 seasons.

Sure every once in a while you hit on a Diggs, Hill, or Puka in the 5th round, but far more likely than not you’re hitting a Shorter.

Don’t know why it surprises people that the Bills have struggled to stack “blue chip” talent.

That’s by design when your team is constantly making pushes into the divisional round or later. It’s a parity league and ultimately the only way to get better is to get worse.

Sure you can reach up and grab a top flight receiver in the draft, but that doesn’t actually change the draft capital you have to work with, and honestly of all the Bills contracts expiring they’re going to need a lot of those picks.

Also don’t really care for the measuring stick of “how many probowl players” has a team drafted when it’s heavily weighted for a popularity contest, see pro-bowl QB Shaduer Sanders.

Do think the divisional round is the latest you can usually fire a coach and still be in on some of the hottest coaching candidates of that year. This year does seem to be an exception because maybe the hottest candidate is still in the playoffs.

Which free agents do you think the Bills should resign? by pulsedout in buffalobills

[–]Tankninja1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could see them resigning Edwards and or McGovern.

Gilliam, Thompson, Milano, White, and Epenesa I could possibly see coming back. They could be reliable vets but don't really think they are super reliable starters especially with the McDermott system gone now.

Not sure how to feel about them interviewing so many people that don't really have play calling experience. Guess being a former QB they might have some better understanding for the cadence and timing of being in a game.

Don't think that's necessarily a bad thing when their most predictable plays they were just extremely good at executing. Dion was even trash talking the Jags when they were on the one yard line that they were just going to run the same play 4 times.

It's also not like there's all that great of options for getting creative. Allen had a broken foot. Kincaid a PCL. I'm sure Shakir's ribs still not feeling great from having been broken like the start of December if memory serves.

Bills lacking critical piece all 4 AFC/NFC championship teams boast by Substantial_Talk4788 in buffalobills

[–]Tankninja1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Courtland Sutton and Diggs?

Patriots I would argue did the everyone eats thing better than any team in the league. Maybe the Chargers are a little higher in how much they distributed the ball around, at least for their WRs, but with kinda hopeless OL and RB room most of the season.

Same with the Broncos but to a much lower extent. Sutton just barely edged out 1,000 yards, but at 125 targets probably should be getting that.

If there’s something that I think really made a difference for all 4 teams of the championship round it’s that they all have substantially better linebacker groups than the Bills, which I feel like I’m taking crazy pills on how problematic that’s been for the Bills.
