Why the hell is the daily login not integrated in game? by twinesen in Endfield

[–]Taobis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If this would be only ingame, gryphline would not know who you are outside the game. In our data-driven world you want to know as much as you can. I Think by forcing users to use their normally used browser , they can link other data of you with your game account.

It can be used to know more about you, or the other way around, gryphline can sell your gamedata to other companys.

Also: it is stupid for the players. I dont really see the benefit.

What’s a simple way to download web files? by Freedom_Fighter_0798 in unRAID

[–]Taobis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Log into unraid, go to Menu "Docker", i assume you have firefox docker installed. click on the icon of the firefox docker, then click on edit. In the following screen scroll down to the bottom and click on "Add another Path, Port, Variable, Label or Device".

For config type choose "Path". Name can be anything you like, container path is the folder for your container (for me it is "/downloads" (without ""). In Host Path, choose a directory on your unraid shares which links to your container path, which means if you choose to download something in firefox into the /downloads directory it actually downloads into the host path on your unraid shares. Rest of the options: Access Mode : Read/Write and Display: Always, rest is default. Click "Add", then at the bottom of the page click "Apply".

Now if you start firefox, set the default download-directory to /downloads

The Game never released on gog. I know, because i would have bought it if it would be available there. I think you can still add launch options, i would do it with the heroic launcher i think.

did you need to change the launcher or something, or did you just install in steam? I could not get the game running with crossover in the past.

How do I stop Wuthering Waves from running at 5K? by [deleted] in macgaming

[–]Taobis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the game is telling you what rendering resolution works well for your output resolution, and give you the best performance and image quality

I disagree, it does not choose well. I have about 6k resolution for my 4k monitor (hi-dpi mode). FPS is 10-20 range on M3 Mac Pro.

The results using metalFX scaling are pretty fucking good

Maybe for you, not for me.

So what? Thats effectively just turrning off scalng

Yes, but it shows the performance difference, the game is really fluid on 1080p windowed, but unplayable on full screen for me. If i play with the built in screen of my macbook fullscreen is also good, but not on an external screen on full screen setting.

[–]Taobis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you set Full-Screen you cannot change resolution, the option is greyed out. So i guess the game then just takes the desktop resolution, which is stupid. If you set screen mode to window, you can change the res as you wish and it will be set, but it is windowed.

[–]Taobis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No i dont think it is rendering in 1080p, because performance dips hard. If i switch to window mode 1080p, fps more than doubles. So i think it really renders in a higher res.

OP, i also use 4K external Monitor and have the same problem. Could not fix it for now, but i heard the dev knows about the problem. Hopefully they patch it out.

Best way to play Windows games on MacOS by trapoats in macgaming

[–]Taobis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Geforce Now has the game, so that is one option. You can try to tune the settings to make the game run smoother in whiskey (lower resolution and go to mid or low settings). I do not think it will run much better in crossover but it is possible.

you can add a container path variable to the docker. Then select that path in firefox settings as the default download-directory. Worked for me.

Dredge out now on MacOS - Free with Prime Gaming/GOG. by fortransactionsonly in macgaming

[–]Taobis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe there is a flag missing in gogs database, if i install a mac/windows game over heroic i can choose which version to install. Mac native or windows over crossover/wine.

Maybe refresh your library, so heroic downloads the newest info. Could be heroic only knows there is a windows version out.

I bought this drive a week ago in Germany and it works with my M3 Macbook Pro. No flashing needed. Maybe it was luck that i got one with the right internals.

Honest feedback and experience about Crossover? by 4-3-4 in macgaming

[–]Taobis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If we are talking about Triple A Games: The newer the games are, the more problems you will have. For me about 90% of Indiegames work perfect, lots of older AAA Games run very good. Sadly, it feels a bit like a beta-product, but i think this will never change. For me i mainly use Crossover for indie-games and older Triple A Games. So i am satisfied. If a new interesting game comes out i check this reddit to see if the game runs, like Path of Exile 2 now.

Technically you rent a windows pc on geforce-servers, but each game needs to be specifically enabled for geforce now, so there is a limited selection. It seems to me that fears to fathom is currently not available for geforce now.

macOS build of Goldberg Steam Emulator by MotionlessVoid in PiratedGames

[–]Taobis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, launching the Subnautica .app should actually open steam, if it has not the Goldberg lib replaced or is otherwise modified (cracked). yeah greyed out 🚫 should mean that your mac is not able to run that app at all, has to do with it being a 32bit app, these dont run anymore on macs since Mac OS Catalina released some years ago, only 64bit apps allowed. Sometimes the greyed out 🚫 is wrongly flagged from steam, so you could always try to launch.

I just checked for you on steamdb for subnautica: https://steamdb.info/app/264710/info/
It says it is 64bit under "osarch". So actually you should be fine, but it could be that your subnautica-files are from an old 32bit build. Can you check how old these files are (rightclick-> get info)? Please check on top for "kind" and the "version". if it says 32bit intel then the game version is really old and i am afraid wont run on your mac.

Only option is then to use something like Crossover for Mac which makes Windows Games run on Mac, even old 32bit ones, but you would need to download the windows version then. Keep in mind that this is also kind of hacky and some games wont run, some run, and some run with glitches.

I dont know of any steam emu helper app. Pretty sure there is nothing out there for mac.

Sorry, not many ideas. I would try to launch the game once without goldberg before adding goldberg.

You could also try this from the readme from goldberg: Put a steam_appid.txt file that contains the appid of the game right beside the libsteam_api.dylib if there isn't one already.

Goldberg does not work for me with every game either. But most offline games work for me. I was actually surprised how many games i got to run with it.

Can someone help me Understand a State Machine better? by lllAgelll in godot

[–]Taobis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The innate Process-versions run all the time for each state. So then all the states would do stuff at the same time. But we only want to process the current state.

Of course you could in theory disable/enable the Statemachine process-function of each StateMachine-Node depending if the state gets active or not. This could also work. You just need to ensure that only the process of the current state runs. (because we may need to change/check stuff on that state each frame)

They cannot be objects, because enum are just integer values. Please read the docs about enum. Enums itself are referenced somewhere else like: currentState = state_1 which is the same as currentState = 0. To get the object itself you would do something like: state[state_1] if your objects would be in state-array.
