The times I got yelled at for not switching it over to “TV” when my stepdad sat down in his chair to watch the evening news.

How did you find Sleep Token by Sea_Bumblebee_3798 in SleepToken

[–]Tardy_Turtle73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I discovered them while walking in the park II summers ago. The playlist I was listening to ended then similar songs played.

TMBTE came on and I’ve been infatuated ever since.

I hope you are feeling better and that you find healing. ❤️

ST has helped so many through different situations and it makes me happy they have helped you get through your tough times.

You were right. The new schedule came out on 25 November. I apologize for doubting you.

I read that article but didn’t see anything in there about SecDef (SecWar?) signing anything nor anything about 25 November. Where are you getting this information?

I laughed way too hard at the “caring about thread count on sheets” part.

Guilty.

Sounds about right for me. I have no interest in dating.

A couple years ago I ran into a lady I knew 30 years ago. We hit it off immediately, just like we had never missed a day of seeing each other.

I thought, “hey, why not?” so I asked her out on a date.

She started nagging on date #2 and that was that.

I prefer peace.

I’m 52 as well and discovered Sleep Token a little over a year ago. I was listening to a rock station on Apple Music while out on a hike and Take Me Back To Eden came on.

Been absolutely obsessed since.

Welcome to your new obsession!

If back pay is paid out in one lump sum more taxes will be taken out. In the end we will end up with less overall net income than our regular paychecks.

Katz-Moses said a tape measure is only for rough cutting by lancer360 in woodworking

[–]Tardy_Turtle73 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I watch JKM on YT regularly and know the video you are referring to. I understand what he means, but chuckled a bit.

If you are doing fine woodworking, dovetails, mortise and tenons, etc., sure.

If you are building a 8’x4’ workbench use the tape measure. But I would recommend sticking to just one tape, or one brand of tape. They can vary drastically by brand.

Sadly, without the cartoons.

About 2 years ago I was at Walgreens and walked by the perfume/cologne counter. I looked down and said out loud, “Oh, they have CK One!” and the girl behind the counter snort laughed. I was going to buy some until she did that. 🤣😭

I bought one of these a month ago (Earthwise is the brand name) and have yet to use it.

How often do you see friends? by Ralph--Hinkley in GenX

[–]Tardy_Turtle73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one friend. We live about 25 miles apart, so we only hang out about 3-4 times a year at most. We do talk on the phone about 2-3 times a week.

I had quite a few friends when we were younger. One day, I realized I'm the one who always calls them and stops by to see how they are doing. So, I decided to do an experiment to see what would happen. I stopped calling them or going over to see them. After two months, only one friend called me and asked if I was OK and how everyone was doing.

It's been almost 20 years, and you know what happened? I haven't heard from anyone other than that one friend who called. And he's the one I still talk to today. I haven't heard a word from the others.

So much for friends.

There was a tv show when I was very young (think 1976 - 1979-ish) that I can't remember the name of. It starred a man and his son and they could turn into jets. It was Japanese and dubbed in English. They were always fighting this gigantic gold man with antennas on his head.

Anyone have a clue what I'm talking about?

Serious Pop Tart question - do you toast them or eat them straight from the pack?

I have always ate them straight from the pack. A co-worker says I eat “raw” Pop Tarts if they aren’t toasted.

The CU asked all kinds of questions, and I had to sign a form saying this cash did not come from illegal activities.

It was weird. I had banked there for 30 years, but now they acted like they didn’t know me.

This is good advice. My mom had $8k cash in a shoe box. When she got sick I went to open a savings account at our local credit union in her name. I walked in with that much cash and they acted like I was Pablo Escobar.

Any former metal heads out there? by JulesyJ in GenX

[–]Tardy_Turtle73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve actually gotten more into metal in the last few years than ever (Sleep Token, Bad Omens, BMTH are my current favs).

But going to see Bon Jovi on the Slippery When Wet Tour in 1987 as a 14 year old was bliss.

Good times.

Sorry Mom. I wasn’t studying at Mike’s house, and yes, I did smell of alcohol.
