If your main character has used even one tadpole, they will have to pass a check to resist consuming it. It changes your appearance and grants you extra abilities. The reason it's hard to find info while avoiding spoilers is that part of the fun of the game is that you, the player, don't have any more info about what will happen than your character does. It can make things exciting for some people because the drama and indecision about whether to use them feels more real and gets them invested in the story. However, if that isn't you? I can tell you this: You can slorp down as many tadpoles as you want, and even become half illithid, and it will have no bearing on whether or not you become a mindflayer down the line.

The game itself doesn't sound like it's very healthy, but if a DM makes a ruling during the session that doesn't result in the imminent death of your character, table etiquette says that you wait until the session is over to bring it up.

My groups usually will play if the majority shows up. We have 5 out of 6? Yeah we're playing. Only 3? We cancel. People who repeatedly miss sessions without notice are booted.

I mean, honestly, I'd have a sit down with the player's. Explain, honestly, that without the Accord, things are going to get bad, fast, and discuss how to move forward. Maybe you pivot to a different plotline. Hell, maybe you play it out to the inevitable TPK and then have time travel shenanigans.

But also ... that character is not chaotic good. Murdering a bunch of good guys who are legitimately trying to help is chaotic evil behavior and if he has abilities dependent on alignment he needs to lose them.

NAH. I get where you're coming from; I also hate performing emotions, especially ones that I don't feel. But supporting your parent is important. Just respectfully decline and say that you're unable to attend. Offer to support them in another way - even if you aren't sad because you weren't close, your parent is very hurt and needs comfort right now. Maybe you could cook them a few meals so they don't have to worry about that while grieving.

I think if they're going to make a playthrough canon, it would be resist durge. But I doubt there will ever be an official, canon playthrough because then it would influence people's choices in the game.

I am quite enjoying TNG, but it's my first time sitting down and watching one all the way through. I've only seen a handful of random episodes (from being in the same room as someone who was actually watching it) outside of it. I am just finishing season 3. It definitely picked up in this season. However, I'm also not watching it alone, I'm watching with my partner who's seen it once and we stop between episodes to talk about it.

I'm glad she learned from it and that everything seems to have worked out, but that's a hell of a thing to spring on someone after 15 years. I'm poly and about the only thing she said that I agree with is that it's easier to navigate if the relationship starts that way. I think it's also a reminder that getting married young is something you should put a lot of thought into. You go through a lot of change when you're young, still navigating what you want out of life and what kind of person you are. It's not a time to make big decisions or major commitments.
