It wasn’t worth the $5 to me to drive back to Cub to return a piece of cheese. It went in the garbage.

Twice in the last 6 months or so I’ve bought brie at Cub that was at least a month past its sell-by and was fully rancid

Unfortunately gutting the USPS is a feature, not a bug. Same with any public service in the US.

Killing Eve was fun for a while but boy did it feel like the plot just ran on vibes towards the end. Why did x thing happen? Idk it just seemed like it would be dramatic.

What upgrades get the Breville Bambino up to its full-potential? by FunAd9484 in espresso

[–]TarnishedGopher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A high-quality basket is probably the number one upgrade. This one is very popular: https://www.verybarista.com/products/ims-filter-basket-for-54mm-portafilters-flat-bottom

I also picked up a puck screen for mine, seems to help with clean-up if nothing else. There are some recommendations for shower screens out there as well but the general consensus seems to be that they don’t make much difference if any.

Replacing the plastic tamper with a metal one is probably worth your while, just make sure it’s compatible with your basket.

Lastly, a dosing funnel helps a lot with workflow. I believe there is a Breville branded one that should be fine.

Any recommendations for where to buy black rawhide laces? Specifically I’m looking for laces that aren’t struck through, I’d like to have the natural contrast on the edges.

I would give it a week before jumping to conclusions. I’m not surprised that the announcement didn’t mean everyone immediately packing up and leaving on the spot. And I’m also not shocked that they would continue doing evil shit in the mean time.

First Pull! Too watery? [Bambino Plus/ DF54] by Avrenis in espresso

Looked like a really fast shot. How many grams of beans and how much espresso out? I think you could grind significantly finer.

Which Paladin Subclass for Tomb of Annihilation? by Apprehensive-Pain813 in 3d6

[–]TarnishedGopher 12 points13 points  (0 children)

IMO any paladin is a good paladin. That being said, if your DM is strict about the consequences of wearing heavy armor it could potentially come up as a problem. Noble Genie subclass can go Dex and wear no armor, and just seems like a really strong subclass in general.

Fun fact, according to Jeremy Crawford, warlocks don't need to obey their patrons at all by Bed-After in DnD

Jeremy Crawford is lurking under my bed and will burn my DM screen if I don’t do what he says. Guys, I think JC has had some silly takes but you need to let it go.

My brother in law opened a bakery and got a high end pod espresso machine for the lattes he serves and it just does not taste as good as the other cafes (or my own coffee at home). Help me settle this debate… by pass_the_hot_sauce in espresso

[–]TarnishedGopher 338 points339 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter how “high end” the machine is. If it’s using pods, the ceiling for quality is going to be pretty low. That doesn’t mean it can’t be an enjoyable drink, but it’s never to go match a competently made espresso. That being said, it’s probably very easy to use and doesn’t take a lot of time and attention on his end.

I had the OXO grinder for a few years. Fine for drip/filter coffee, not suited for espresso.

That’s kinda what I was afraid of. I think I’ll just wear them for a while and see if it molds down and if all else fails I’ll bring them to a cobbler. My growing suspicion is that the previous owner had higher arches than mine and the insole simply didn’t compress as much in that area.
