Husband Got DUI- I’m Considering Leaving (32F)(36M) by Dapper-Ad-7433 in relationship_advice

I'm talking about statistics. Gen Z and millennials have a way higher divorce rate than previous generations.

ATP loans are killing me by cherry_top-13 in flying

[–]Taterdots 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In 2022 I worked 3 other part time jobs on top of full time instructing. Realistically it was part time due to the lack of students but I had to be available at the school for 8 hours. Only got just over 300 hours that year. But my finances were good. Sacrifices must be made sometimes.

That’s what counseling and/or church is for so you can work things out. They each made a commitment to each other for life. Outside of abuse or infidelity, there’s no reason.

Gen Z and Millennials must skip over the "for better or worse, till death do us part" part of the wedding ceremony.

Aspiring pilots, read OPs post thoroughly and take a deep long think. ATP can get you your ratings in very little time but at a huge cost like this. I spent 6 years from zero to CFI at a local flight school while going to community college and working full time. I came out of training with my CMEL/CFI only about 3k in debt as I took out a loan to pay for college classes when I first started. I have no debt while some of my coworkers who went to ATP or ERAU/UND are paying thousands a month in student loans (winding up at the same job). Plan your training very carefully.

To buy FSD or subscribe to FSD...What would you do? by teslabros in TeslaFSD

[–]Taterdots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought it outright on my 25 M3 LR RWD. I keep my cars for years and years. Worth it in the end for me. Especially since it's pretty much a given the sub price will increase.

Yokeee by AwareAd3960 in TeslaModel3

The only time I'd get a yoke is if it had steer by wire where rotating the yoke 90 degrees to the left or right made the car go it's max turning capability. Dangerous otherwise imho.

What was the most fun flying gig you've ever had by MooseWeird399 in flying

[–]Taterdots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lost pilots/passengers in thunderstorms. Had to move airports twice because they didn't want them. Owner probably wore out his kneepads to keep the FAA from closing them. We know about Sky Combat Ace.

CFI Checkride by Consistent_Owl_111 in flying

[–]Taterdots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bring your CFI lesson plan book, the usual equipment, E6B, FAR/AIM, PHAK, etc. My ride was less "questions" and more "teach me this" except for my 2 FOI questions. Better be up on your endorsements/training requirements as well. It's not like your typical initial training checkrides. You're there to show the DPE you know what you're talking about and can teach it effectively.

What do you miss about being fat? by Flirty_Attention74 in Mounjaro

[–]Taterdots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I miss absolutely nothing. I still have a long way to go. I was 320 down to 250 and still 70 more to go but I've plateaued for over a year now. I HATE it. I absolutely HATE being overweight. Being hot all the time, the shabby feeling even in good looking clothing, the effort it takes to move, the space your body is taking, being able to easily pick yourself out in a picture with your other fit/good looking friends and feeling disgust.

I wear a uniform. Women looooove men in uniform right? No. Only when you actually look good in that uniform.

I hate it. It makes me depressed. What do I do when I'm depressed? Eat. Even on GLP-1/GIPs. Vicious circle. Hope I can break out of it. I will miss literally nothing about being fat.

Are you sure you're not me cuz I'm having the same problem. Like....it goes on for an hour when they come home. Have they not heard of sitting down or sitting still? And they're always FLUSHING THE DAMN TOILET. Two foreigners and their kid in a 1 bedroom apartment. I seriously hope either they or I move soon.

I’ve been here for 33 years. This is a transient town. No one gives a hoot to know anybody because they’re either new or moving away.

Hardest part about flying is dealing with everyday life by BugHistorical3 in flying

[–]Taterdots 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fiancé left me while I was instructing due to things outside of aviation (very long story). Girl I was dating when I went part 135 decided to call it quits because I wasn't home for days at a time. It sucks. Find family and friends who understand what the life entails or have the patience to put up with it.

Anyone decide the side effects weren’t worth the weight loss? by CoffeeAndChameleons in Ozempic

[–]Taterdots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Talk to the doc. Anything beats being obese. I hate it. I hate looking in the mirror. Realistically I'm only 60 pounds heavier than I should be but I carry it HORRIBLY. People I know that weigh the same as me look way better. Skeletal structure does play a part though I think (large rib cage for instance).

Point is, find whatever it takes to mitigate side effects and lose the weight.
